Default Speaker Recommendation / Advice

Hi

I'm looking for recommendations for compact loudspeakers
for 5 channel set up. Music and movies. I have two Tannoy
M1 fronts at the moment. I'd like to replace them with
something smaller (or at least flush-to-the-wall mountable)
but sounding much better I now have a multichannel
amp (Denon 3803) and Universal player (Pioneer DVD 575A)
so something appropriate for this kind of kit - however,
in my experience speakers will outlast electronics kit by
a huge margin, so I'm willing to invest for the long term.
The room is fairly small (4m X 4m).

Nothing silver in colour, so that's the KEF eggs out. Must
look classy, preferably dark wood finish. Sub-£1000 budget.
Performance on stereo (and I guess eventually multichannel)
music is much more important than getting the best from
movies.

I'm also going to need 1m of 5 channel analog interconnect
(pesky SACD copy protection) and some speaker cable. Again,
any recommendations?

Thanks all
