Hello,
I've decided to sell my Ditton 44's. Anyway just took the covers off one
to
find this:

all the foam has disintergrated, and there was a small pin in the mid
speaker!!!!! So anyone, are these worth anything to anyone? Before I
remove the speakers and use em for something else?
What foam? The drivers look ok in the photo.
The glue on the surround is not a problem but it's not obvious
what the discoloration is on the woofer.
There appears to have used to have been a layer of foam on the main driver
at the bottom, which has totally disintergrated!!!
Are you sure? On my now retired Ditton 25s (1978 vintage) it was the
foam which padded out the fabric grille (i.e. between the fabric and the
cut-out board with the velcro pads) which disintegrated into brownish
fragments and dust. It looked very much like the fragments and residues
in your photos. Even at 25 years old the driver cones were in visually
pristine condition.
