Dominoes - a good gag in the MR2 is to crawl past a gas-guzzler like it's
hard work and wait for the ****s to put their foot down as you draw
alongside (which they always do) then fekkin' *floor it* and shrink the
buggers in yer r/v mirror like they've shot off *backwards*..!! :-)

Don't bother changing down - it's not necessary in the MR2 and if they catch
you up in traffic later on, they always hang back well out of the way!! :-)

at something like 4800rpm to match the increased sook the engine generates.
Drop it into whatever gear gives you 5000 and it *goes*. (The rev3+
(1994-on) redlines at 7000, not sure about the rev1/2.) Could drop a gear
prior to 'struggling' past the guzzler (up the revs to make 'em think it's
got nothing left), and, when they try it on, drop *another* gear and feed
them dust. :-)

Superb motor when on the cam. And the handling is outragous. With tidy low
milers at around 3K, they're damn-near peerless for the money.

Not shabby at all, Keith - and DIY music is great fun! I think you mean
overdubbing - recording one part, and then recording the next while
monitoring the first (usually through headphones to maintain isolation
between tracks).

Thank you - and yes, Swim played the piano accompaniment while listening to
the clart track on headphones. I pasted an 'intro countdown' on the front of
the tracks and burned them to CDRW and she counted over it (well, the '3, 4'
bit!) on the way in to give me a reference to line the tracks up. (I don't
know how to do it in the software yet!! :-)

Not the best Chopin track available (I fudged a bit out of it to see if I
could hide a loud squawk) and all sorts of crap creeping into the mix on the
Fibich, plus a little bit of clipping! (Kills me - gives me a sound check at
'tinkle tinkle' levels, than pounds the crap out of it when the 'tape's'
running!! :-)

Nice to hear some real music. What do YOU think could be improved?
I'd suggest not micing the clarinet quite so close. And check the
tuning - it's rather sharp in the McDowell.

But it's only a third attempt, for goodness' sake! Next one please?

I know - they ain't 'birdies' per se, they're *chicks* from a ton of 'wrong'
crap I'm getting (courtesy of a certain 'Mr Lucas'!! ;-) - I could have got
better birdsong from the back doorstep!! But I haven't mastered (even looked
at, actually) the art of changing sound levels in the tracks yet! I thought
the dogs were good - bit PF, that!! (Could have been worse - I couldh'a used
the 'Dentist's Drill' clip.....!! :-)

Headphones don't help though - it hangs better off the speakers at a nice
low volume!!

(Earlier today there was some wattock on Carsick FM or was it R3 who has
'composed' summat with a load of crappy samples from the Net - fekkin'
terrible, I thought!!)

Anyway, early days yet, but I do want my own sounds - the samples I've got
sound way too much like, er *samples*!! (I think there's a whole orchestra
down in my garage, before I even wander oot and aboot!!)


PS. Anybody want a bit of a cold and sore throat that's come originally from
someone at the 'Department Of Health'....!!!??
