What I ain't too thrilled about is returned for refund or repair means it goes away with all my personal data on it - not to mention 18,000 music trax some clever bugger could pick up for *free*!! - Chuffed *not*, I can tell you! Although I know sod all about Macs I'm guessing the drive will be a standard SATA interface unit which you could put in any PC and wipe if you could be bothered to strip the silly Mac thing down. Doing this could have warranty implications though, I don't know if Macs still have those 'warranty void if seal broken' stickers over the 'joints'.. -- Bill Coombes |

There is no evidence that a majority of Americans feel that way. Well that's very true and tells you a lot about American standards. No such thing as fringe hate groups in the UK? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Reid_(shoe_bomber) if you believe that... That's comparing apples and pears and doesn't in any way fly as an argument. -- Bill Coombes |

Good thinking, but I need to speak to someone about before I do anything - I believe to open these things up you have to split 'em with a putty knifeor summat similar! I got nothing to hide, but all my family photos are on there and pix of my departed dogs - I'd hate to bump into any of them somewhere in the future and my own picture of a badger did drop through the letterbox once!! |

All religions are at their heart evil, but currently Islam is the worst of the bunch. I don't want anybody who likes islam in charge - even nominally - of anything in my country. Then you've got a problem as there is a substantial Muslim population in the UK. Frankly whether you or I or anyone else "likes" Islam is irrelevant, it's there whether we like it or not. What matters is dealing with the small but minority of Muslims who incline to terrorism. Simply treating Islam per se as "evil" is counter-productive. It's fundamentalism, Christian or Muslim, which is the problem, not the vast majority of followers of either faith who follow the tenet of live and let live. Frankly I don't care what gods people believe in as long as they don't try to force their beliefs onto me. Even though he has proposed that Sharia law be adopted by any of the population that want it? How deep does the wedge have to be driven before you see it is no longer just the thin edge? Yes Dr Williams made an error of judgement over that one, as he must have been aware as soon as he saw the media reports of his speech. For what it's worth he was only suggesting that civil dispute resolution could adopt the principles of Sharia in those cases when both parties wanted to do so. This is nothing to do with the crminal law nor anything to do with all those extreme punishments that most people immediately think of when the word "Sharia" is uttered. It is actually no different from an option that the Jewish community already has. That bothers me far less. Those americans have no voting rights here and they don't sit in our cabinet. I'm quite happy to pay host to them. We ask the same privilege of other countries - it is quite common practice. It may be common practice, but I still dislike it. The world would be a far better place IMO if *everybody's* troops stayed at home more often. British troops should be there to defend Britain, not to impose "regime change" in the Middle East or anywhere else. David. |

(The tiny little 5 pin connector is so damn tricky-looking I daren't put a meter on it!) Tbh, if this thing hadn't cost so much I'd chuck it in the cupboard and forget about it! |

Yeah, that's where my money would be. (The tiny little 5 pin connector is so damn tricky-looking I daren't put a meter on it!) Yup, I keep a pair of X4 glasses handy for when I'm poking around in laptops. Tbh, if this thing hadn't cost so much I'd chuck it in the cupboard and forget about it! Hmm, I do have such a cupboard too but I've never condemned anything as expensive as that to it. -- Bill Coombes |

Does the conservative Christian lobby have no influence in American politics? Lol, thankfully a bit less since Dubya and his boys left office. -- Bill Coombes |
