Also I've noticed it will usually leak after a short track approx 3 secs. Maybe the answer is to make tracks a minimal of 5 secs! IIRC The Audio CD spec does specify a minimum duration for a track. I can't recall the value but I think it is a few seconds. I'd assume that in general you'd not have any operational problems with simply padding the last part of 5 seconds to make that the minimum? Electronics http://www.st-and.ac.uk/~www_pa/Scot...o/electron.htm Armstrong Audio http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/Armstrong/armstrong.html Audio Misc http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/index.html Hi Jim Yes it's 2 secs minimun length for a track. Still haven't got round to setting up my stuff though to test. I've just been to pick up an Horizon 1508 Studiomaster powered desk. It's the third one I'm on over the past 15 years. They're a fantastic desk IMO but they always have problems with the inserts. Although most people never use them they seem to oxidise and result in the desk intermittingly losing volume on all channels. Anyhow they've been replaced (parts £8 - Labour £76 Vat added £109..Grrr!) and I'm thinking of covering the inputs from now on to stop any dust etc getting into them, but not really sure if that will make a diffrence. I did ask the man if he could bypass the inserts altogether but he said he couldn't, whether that's true or not! -- Regards p.mc |

My solution was to make up some jack plugs with the tip and ring shorted which I plugged in to the inserts. If they become intermittent you can simply rotate them to wipe any gunk off the contacts. You could also link them internally - I'm not sure why your service guy said you couldn't. Cheers James. -- http://www.jrpmusic.net |
