Pinout for Ford 2000 by Graham
Does anyone know the pinout for the connectors on a "Ford Sound 2000" car radio cassette. I took it from my 1990 Sierra (along with the plugs that went into the wiring loom) when I broke it up and scrapped it recently and want to stick it in my campervan, but can't identify the wires. One connector has eight pins and this is most likely the speakers, the other connector has 7 wires, two brown...

Ford RDS Radio model 2007 (year 2001) wiring please? by Darren B
Just bought this radio from a scrappie but obviously the wiring is still in the car they scrapped. It has an 8 pin straight plug socket, and then what looks like a very large USB slot. Any idea how I should wire this up direct to the pins, I only need power, earth and two speakers. I had a look at some other Fords in the yard but none of the plugs appeared the same as was needed here? Any ideas...

Thinking of buying a JVC head unti by Graham
I am thinking of getting one of these http://tinyurl.com/423nxe JVC head units. It has all the features I want, especially the ipod control and the front panel audio in socket, but also the remote so I can control the radio while in the camper and not have to reach into the cab to adjust things. All I don't know is how it sounds? Do most of the decent head units sound similar? or are there big...

Tweeters crossovers and midrange by Dave Ryman
Hi there everyone - I'm new here, so please excuse me if I break any local protocols! I have a late 90's Ford Scorpio, and will be looking to upgrade the audio in the near future. I'm happy so far with the information I've found on a replacement head unit and fascia to adapt from the current 1.8DIN aperture. I'm also happy with the replacement for the front door speakers (once I've taken...

Hard-drive based "cd multichanger" ? by Mike[_2_]
Hi, I'm trying to find a device like a hard-drive based "cd multichanger" which has the same interface as a normal multichanger so it can replace the one I have but which will allow me to copy my entire music collection to it in the form of a bunch of directories containing MP3 encoded music albums. Does anyone know if such a system exists ?

Removing cover from CD30 in Vectra by Al Henderson
Evening All, My darling two year old has put all my spare change in the CD slot of my CD30 CD player/radio in the Vectra. I fished some tuppences out this morning, tried a CD but it wouldn't read CDs, so I thought there were more coins in there, but figured I could live without the CD for the moment. However, on the way home tonight the radio stopped working to. I think the unit has been...

What security measures to take? by Stephanie
I thought I'd buy an older car for cheap transportation. It turns out I bought the model that is #3 on the U.S. Most Stolen Car list ('89 Toyota Camry). Short of installing LoJack, what do you recommend? Is a regular audible alarm with ignition- or starter-disabler effective? Suggestions welcome.

Nissan Almera XCarLink iPod Adaptor by Pete[_2_]
I'm trying to fit an XCarLink iPod adaptor in to my Nissan Almera. The car is an 04 plate with the standard radio/cd installed. I've plugged the link plug in to the back of the stereo (into the cd changer port) and put 12v on the Bat & Acc wires, but I can't get the stereo to switch to the cd changer input - it just moves between cd (the standard fit one) and radio. Power reaches the iPod...

amp wiring / common ground / mono sub out by [email protected]
I have an Alpine CDA-9812RB, with stereo sub pre-out, and AFAIK no provision for switching to mono out. I have a bridgeable mono amp for a sub that I'm going to fit in the rear of the car, and fortunately the battery is under the rear seats. I'd like to use the existing rear speaker cables for pre-out signal plus switching. Question is, should I just use one channel of the HU sub out, or can...
