RgvKid
hi all,
installed my system in my saxo the other day there, and it has a whine coming
from the back (2 amps in back, one for 6x9s and one for sub) which is
obviously interferance somewhere, cos it's engine noise. sort of
whistle/whine which is fine when engine isn't on,soon as car starts it kicks
in.
i've checked the earth for both amps ,and it seems totally fine. power for
both amps comes from the...

CD Scratch Remover? by
Woody
Hi Does anyone know of any products that can completely remove scratches
from cd's? Including "micro abrasive scratches"
I've used "wipe out cd repair kit" gives ok results but leaves visible
micro abrasive scratches
I've also used many car body "scratch removers" with better results than
most cd repair kits but they all leave "micro abrasive scratches"
Does anyone know of anything that does...

Goodmans GCE7103CD fuse keeps blowing by
Andy K
I have a Goodmans GCE7103CD CD player. I put it in my Vauxhall Omega and it
worked fine. However, when I changed my car to a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec and
put it in that, the memory function, for remembering the radio stations,
failed to work. I was told that changing the red and yellow wires over on
the cable would rectify this problem, and it did.
However now, within a few seconds of the...

home burned CD OK in autochanger? by
Philip Reece-Heal
Have just bought a car with an in-dash 6CD autochanger and need advice on
CDs.
In the past, I have burned music compilations to CDs with my computer at
home but I heard a rumour that these homemade CDs can cause jams or failures
in autochangers. Anyone got any knowledge or advice?
All comment gratefully received
Philip

CD head unit with existing cassette unit? by
Iain M
Hi,
Is it possible to fit a CD unit in the spare cavity in a 2004 model VW Polo
with the existing cassette unit kept in? I don't know if this is at all
feasible and I understand there are some wiring issues with post-1998 VWs.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks in advance for help.

Centurion LCD screens? by
Silver
Hi group
Anyone got/ know about Centurion?
Are they any good? I want a rear drop screen for the kids so it wont be used
that much and wondered what the quality will be like?
Does anyone know if this will plug into my Alpine head unit screen and play
both screens at the same time?

Peugeot 307 & Pioneer AVIC-X1 Audio/Sat Nav Unit by
Nick \(UK\)
Hi,
Bought one of these modern marvels on-line. Question is, does anyone know
any good installers, mobile or otherwise in the South East area that would
be willing to install it? All I have spoken to will only fit their own
product.
Also, the Peugeot has a double DIN. Would it be possible to fit this in the
the second slot thus retaining the original equipment and...

I have just bought a 2003 Passat 1.9 SE. This has a Gamma Head Unit
and a in dash Sony 6 Disc changer.I want to replace the head unit with
my old unit which is a Kenwood. Do I need to buy a special convertor

Using a Sony CD Changer lead with a JVC setup by
Pontyslapper
Hi All,
Here's an interesting one for all you techies out there.
I've just bought a JVC KS-LH6R head unit and a JVC CH-X500 CD Changer,
unfortunately there is no connection lead for them.
I was wondering (after reading something somewhere, and having a look in
Halfords today) could I use the unilink cable from my 'old' Sony setup as it
looks to have the same connectors as the JVC kit?

Car Audio Centre - A warning by
Ian
Having just had a marathon 1 1/2 hour complaining session with car
audio centre www.caraudiocentre.co.uk I thought I would check some
threads on their service.
I have to add to the other reports of poor service, that this is quite
possibly the worst service I have ever come across.
I asked for advice on swapping my existing Sony CDXM 730 for another
Sony unit I could plug straight in to the...

Hyundai Accent - ISO connector? by
Scott M
Hi all,
Anyone know if an X-reg Hyundai Accent is likely to have a standard ISO
connector? Will be fitting one at the w/end and want to know if a trip
to Holfrods is in order first. Also, are they likely to have swapped the
12v leads like Vauxhall?
Cheers,

Interference Help Anyone Please? by
Dan McIntyre
Hi group.
Since fitting my DVD player and screen along with my Sony XA 300 source
selector I have loads of interference when playing from any source with the
engine running. I'm just going to nip out and move the earth point for the
DVD player and screen to the same as the headunit, see if that makes any
difference but I wondered if anyone else had any other ideas as well?
I've never had...

Car stereo queries. by
blah
Hello, (x-posted to a few groups)
I can't listen to music on my car stereo anymore unless i turn it up to
the max, it is very soft still. I was wondering, has the internal amp
fried itself? A similar thing happened to another car amp in a previous
car, it did fry itself. Has anyone had an experience like this before?
Is there somewhere that checks this out, i doubt its worth it?
The deck is...

CD Changer Newbie question by
Scott M
TMC wrote:
Have been given an alpine 6 cd changer no leads no instructions which was

You'll need to buy an Alpine HU to go with it - it won't be compatible
with the Phillips HU (or I'll be bl00dy surprised if they are.)
