Dodgy AM reception in VW Sharan by Charlie
I've got a VW Sharan which has got a "non-factory" Radio/CD player fitted. I've read on another thread..... When you replace the factory unit, you need to install a signal separator Autoleads part number PC5 52. This is required on all VW, Audi, Seat and derivatives i.e. - Skoda, Ford Galaxy, where the vehicle has a roof mounted aerial. Otherwise you will not be able to pick up AM. Cost is...

Sony Remote 'joysticks' by SteveH
I'm just about to rip out the OEM Blaupunkt from my shiny new (to me) Alfa 75..... As the head unit is hidden at the bottom of the centre console behind the gear stick (you can't remove tapes / CDs whilst in 5th gear....) I'll probably need a remote for it. I'm sticking my Sony CDX MP30 in there - which are the recommended Sony remotes for this unit?

Hi Does anyone know where I can buy online a replacement flip front case for my Sony Mini-disc fascia? It doesn't have to be a original Sony, hard or soft case I don't mind. Thanks Recon

Car Audio Direct or Cel Direct? by Dave Walker
Well I was given poor advice from car audio direct, resulting in me buying an incompatible product for my car, however there was nothing wrong with the price, delivery or the product itself - so in a twisted way I can recommend them to buy from, just not their advice or aftersales. Wiring in a New Stereo, 94 Rover Metro by Ian Atkinson
GAAAH! I've bought an Aiwa stereo from Argos and I'm trying to fit it into a 1994 Rover Metro Tahiti, and I'm having problems with the wiring. I've done the speaker ISO connection fine, but the power one has oddly coloured wires, and I can't work out what they all do? The new connector has: black: ground

Newbie: My new MP3 head unit switches off with each key turn (Peugeot 205) by Benny P
Hi I bought a Panasonic CD player over the weekend to replace the cassette player that came with my car. I was able to install the new player very easily using a harness adaptor. However, the power to the head unit switches off and then automatically back on again with every key turn I make. This problem never used to happen with the old cassette player.

Cheap front Speakers for 205? Kenwoods? Pioneers? by Benny P
I was thinking of getting some Kenwoods (£19.99) or Pioneers (£24.99) from Argos. Would this improve the sound? I'd suspect not. 205 fronts sound pretty good as standard. The above are also only dual cones, which may even be worse than standard, as a lot of 205s had coaxes from new. Jon Hi Jon

Setting Gains for multiple amps by spencer.rivett
Hi I have completed my first install but need a bit of advice on setting the gains properly. I have read the FAQ section and understand the concepts involved but I have a bit of a problem as I am using an adjustable Line output converter which (to me at least!) makes the process more complex. I just don't have enough experience or knowledge to know the best way

Hi, Anyone know if the latest Honda Accord with Satnav can be upgraded to DAB. I read somewhere that the satnav is supplied by Alpine, so could the TUA-100DAB be used? Tried rec.autos.makers.honda but no luck there..... Thanks,

VW beta - which CD changer? by d.a.v.o.r
Can you please tell me which CD changers are compatible with Volkswagen Beta. Original VW changer costs too much. All I want is cheaper changer which can be controlled and recognized by my beta radio. It would be enough if song +/- and disc +/- worked (and cdtext :-) Thanks in advance

Free to good home , Citroen AX bits by Dr Zoidberg
Free to collector , 1 wooden stealth shelf for a citroen AX and a pair of speaker pods for the front doors (3 door only I think) that take 6.5" coaxials. If you ask nicely you may even get some speakers to go with them. Damn heavy so will need to be fetched from Stourbridge , West mids. -- Alex SRX 400

Vectra CD - CD2006 not playing CD-Rs by lordy #2
Dean Craddock wrote in : Try using a CDRW. From a players point of view, a normal CD has similar characteristics to a CDRW and it's not unusual for such units to be ok with these discs. As for CDR's, you've discovered the rule of thumb, once you've found a disc that works, stick with it.
