what kind of power regulation is done by car Hifi equipment? by
MeatballTurbo
When hooked up to a car power system, the voltage can fluctuate between
8v and 15v from cranking to running off the alternator.
What kind of valtage regulation is done inside things like Amps, and
Headunits, DVD players (especially the more like mini computer ones)
etc.
Or are they built from components that have a fairly wide input voltage
range that won't burn out from the variances that...

Pioneer CD multiplayer input to 2x phone adaptor by
anthony james

You need a CDRB20,assuming your head unit's aux input ready.
It's a 18 month old P-series unit (which i should have explained) so
is aux ready. I've been toying with the idea of a DAB box for it
since for the last 2 years (the current unit is an insurance
replacment after some scrote had the original)

Clifford Concept Alarm problem by
Dan
Hi, apologies for the x-post but hoping someone might know a bit about
Clifford Alarm systems? I've just bought a car with the Concept 500 system
fitted and it's been fine for the past two weeks. It started playing up
yesterday and won't respond to the remote anymore. I've changed the battery
in the remote and tried the 2nd backup remote as well but neither will
disarm/unlock it. I managed to get...

Any idea what the wiring harness will be?
ISO up to around '99. Later cars had a BMW connector. You need an
Autoleads PC2054 if that's the case.

Installing Head Unit by
Mark \(UK\)
Hi all.
I'm new to this game but have a good knowledge of hifi, electronics and cars
generally so I should be able to learn well. I have a Sony head unit that I
want to install into my car to replace the standard Phillips one. It is a
standard DIN bay so no modding will be required, and I am hoping that the
wiring behind the old unit will have a compatible ISO connector but I
haven't checked...

Rudi Cheow
I'm looking to buy a Kenwood KDC7024 head unit, and have found the cheapest
to be either http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk or http://www.cel-direct.com .
The diffirence being only about a pound or so after postage is added. Anyone
have any opinions of which retailer I should use?
I've used both. Both good.

Help: Radio in a Series Land Rover by
Mark Gowans
Hi.
I've got an 1980 Series III Land Rover which at speed is a tad noisy.
Its previous owner had graced it with a rather nasty Goodmans Radio
Casette and 2 dual cone pioneer speakers mounted in the driver and
passenger doors.
When stationary or with the engine off - the system sounds absolutely
fine (I'm no audiophile).

Replacing Saxo standard speakers, recommendations? by
Bodthesod
As above, i've replaced the standard headunit with a pretty decent alpine
headunit and now i'm looking to replace the speakers - starting with the
fronts. I have about £150 max to spend and think i'm gonna stick with
coaxials for ease of fitting. I just really wanna improve the mid/bass in
the front... surely anythings better than the standard speakers.
Thanx in advance.
