I have the latest Renault Clio and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install some neons in my boot. I have a small light in the boot of my car that switches on when my boot is opened. I took a normal set of neons and cut off the cigarette adapter to leave bare wires which I then usd to connect to the small light in my boot. It then blew my neons so can anyone tell me how I can...

Built-In Amplifier by AS
Someone please help... I have four speakers in my car and want to amplify the signal to the rear speakers only. The obvious thing to do is get a two channel amplifier and simply connect it up. However, my Head Unit (JVC KD-SH99R) has a built in amp, and it states in the manual, if you connect the unit to an external amp, you should switch the built-in amp off. If I do this however,...

JL Audio 15" subwoofer question by Larry Durst
I was searching for some subs for sale online to get an idea of the price range. Now audio wanted 375 for one 15" 15W3. I was wondering what's the difference in the models and how the perform from each other. I'm asking because I havent found a place yet that has these subs and an amp working at the same time, and I cant listen to them for myself, i'm all bad luck at the moment. The subs are ....

6" Sub by H
I need to replace the two 6" subs in the rear door of my 98 Discovery. I don't want to start cutting the car to pieces for bigger ones. Any recommendations for 6" ? There is a small amp already in the door panel driving the two already there, not sure of spec though. Head unit is a Kenwood Z838W.

"Dashlead" by H
Does anyone know where I can buy this lead from, and an idea of price? (Fit a 1998 Discovery) It allows my CARK91 handsfree to output through the front speakers instead of the poxy speaker provided. Everywhere I look its not for sale individually, but "must be fitted by a qualified..." blah blah. Any help appreciated.

Amps and stuff... by joomper
Firstly Ill say I'm new to this, so go easy on me... I really need to get a 4 channel amp to get the most out of my speakers, but need a little help first. My current Head Unit JVC KD-SH99R (I think) only has 4 regular speaker outputs to connect straight to speakers. But, in the manual it says that the built-in amp in the head unit, can be switched off if you connect to an external amp. But I...

Anyone got a wiring diagram for a Cobra alarm? by Paul Morgan
Looking to do some work on my Cobra compact alarm (i.e. the control electronics are built into the siren). It's a 7900 model or something like that, had no luck finding any info but if anyone has a wiring diagram for *any* Cobra alarm I'd be grateful to see it as I reckon some of the wire colours etc might correspond to mine. PS It has a single 24-pin connector on which 21 pins are used. Cheers.

Help me with an enclosure problem! by Luke Verona
Question for you.... Is my thinking right here? A particular sub needs a box which is 1.25 cubic feet. Therefore this is 3375 cubic inches. The easiest way to do this is a box 15"x15"x15" (not allowing for the thickness of the wood) BUT....
