Car DVD (DVD-MP3) player by
tednat
A year ago I found out that some car DVD players can also play CD-MP3...
I never discovered why they couldn't play DVD-MP3, since they could read DVDs.
I wonder if by now there is such a device, does anyone know?
Thanks

sony cdx-r3300 by
Richard
Hi
I am looking to fit the above head unit to a Renault Clio (03 Model) and I
have a few questions as I have heard a few people say different things.
1. Is the radio a straight swap or is there a adaptors needed (like ford)
2. can I keep the remote display and remote control
- I have heard yes to the remote control but it involves stripping a
lot of the dash out, anyone shed some...

fitting parrot car kit to Clio 172 - any gotchas? by
Geoff Winkless
Hi
I would like to fit a Parrot CK3000 to my wife's Clio 172 (02 model). I've
fitted one to a Vectra and a Corsa so I have no problem with the actual kit
itself, however before I start I'd like to know if there's anything I'll
come across that might cause trouble... any hints/tips etc.
Standard factory fitted stereo.

New Sony head unit - botched wiring... by
AS
I've bought a Sony M8800 and had a bit of a 'botch' with the installation of
the head unit....
Having pulled out the factory head unit, I plugged in the ISO harness
(included with the Sony) and then connected the harness to the Sony (= easy)
It worked fine for a couple of minutes (I hadn't secured it in the DIN slot
at this point, just resting on my lap).... While testing a CD, I must...

Denali locks and remote start by
Wimpy
Okay, I'm really at a loss here. I am installing an Avital 4300 Alarm with
remote start in a 2004 Yukon Denali XL. I have the 555L and 456G.I have
hooked up everything I know to hook up, following all directions, etc. Door
locks will not engage at all. Remote start will engage, but will not start
the car. I've tried with the key in the ignition and does the same thing.
Car starts fine using...

Mark \(UK\)
Hi all, my girlfriend's Peugeot 106 (5 door '97) is about to inherit some of
my spare stereo kit, and I want to get a set of 4 door speakers to go with
it. Problem is she's away with the car until the weekend and I want to buy
the speakers this week ready to install on Saturday, but I don't know what
size they are... I have a feeling all 4 are 130mm speakers, can anyone

alpine mp3 playback by
Stuart Turrell
Does alpine mp3 car radio's have a gap in between tracks??
I usually have cd's like ministry of sound and clubland as mp3's to save
space, but with mp3, there are always gaps in between tracks and i dont like
that.
Kenwood i hear are good, so a kenwood radio is so far top of my list, but i
do like alpines!

Testing HU Sub Output by
Gav
Is it possible to test the pre-out for the sub. I have a CDA-9833 which
supposedly has 4v pre-out, however Alpine customer support have told me to
set my amp imput to be 0.1-1v after I had problems getting my amp and sub
working at a volume above a wisper. Although my sub seems to be working ok
now, this does not make sense to me, could it be that the head unit is not
outputing the correct...

Sub install problem. Very low volume. by
Gav
My current setup is Alpine CDA-9833 head unit, Alpine MRD-M301 amp and
Alpine SWR-1241D (DVC 4+4) Sub. The Sub is wired in parallel to give a 2Ohm
load. Problem I have now is that the volume of the sub is extremely low,
when the volume on the head unit is set 20 to 35 (max) it is about the same
level as the other speakers are on volume level 3 to 4. I have set the input
switch to 1.0-8.0v...

Audio in on a Ford head unit? by
PC
Is there a simple and cheap way to connect an iPod to a factory-fitted Ford
head unit (it's a 6000 - type, in a new model Mondeo)? I know that there are
proprietary cables on the market, but is there a simple bodge connection(s)
that will persuade the head to accept the audio output from the iPod? I'm
not wanting to have the head unit do anything clever like track changing -
just volume up and...
