Handsfree in MK3 Ibiza? by
Daniel Anderson-McIntyre
Eyup,
Finally found and ordered a HSU1 handset for the CARK91 kit in my
Vectra. Wahey!!
Anyway, I have ordered a CARK134 to go in our lass' 51 reg Ibiza.
Does anyone have any tips on removing the large stereo unit with the
built in climate control? Also does anyone know if this unit has a
telephone mute function?

Omega car kit fitting - dealer doing my head in! :-) by
Clive Donaghue
My dealer is claiming that the roof aerial on my 2002 Omega Elite Saloon
does NOT contain a GSM aerial - just the GPS and radio aerial. Everything
I've read contradicts this - I think that the roof aerial "blob and stick" I
have contains both the GPS and GSM aerials and that the radio aerial is in
the back screen.
Can anyone confirm this?
Also, assuming I'm right, where does the GSM aerial...

Grundig SC303 intermittent fault by
briank
My old Cavalier has a Grundig SC303 that has deveoped an intermittent
fault on VHF.
The VHF signal level drops gradually over a period of a few minutes to
the point where no stations are received. AM stations and the cassette
player all work fine.
It usually happens after I've been driving for about half an hour
suggesting a thermal problem or dry joint somewhere in the FM
front-end or the IF...

where to run power wire in escort by
Johan Wagener
I can't seem to find a place from inside the bonnet to inside the car where
I can run my power cable through. I found a few other wires going through
there but I can't get to the place where they come out in the bonnet.
Any experiences with a escort?

Cheap ICE options for 1999 Laguna by
Ebodski
Hi,
I've just bought an ex-fleet Laguna RT dTI which has the audio display on
the dash. Or rather it doesn't because the Philips CD 22DC481/62 head
appears to be dead.
The clips that hold the facia to the casing are both snapped, so the front
just freely pulls off. I can probably glue it without making a pigs ear of
it.
There are two options I'd like to persue :-

Ford 2006 programming by
Dave W
Just bought an old 1992 Ford Sierra Sapphire with, I think, a Ford 2006 RDS
radio.
I cannot figure out how to store stations to the presets and have no
documentation for the radio. Normally I can figure such things out by trial
and error but this one has me beat.
Any helpful suggestions or links to relevant web sites appreciated.

Advise Please! MP3 player header unit / cd changer for Vauxhall by
Anternet
My father drives a 6 month old Vauxhall Zafira Club and I wanted to
but him a cd / mp3 header for xmas, I have a budget of about £200. He
currently only has the standard radio cassette header from Vauxhall. I
don't want to splash out good money on another manufacturers unit that
he can't use again once the car is sold. So my criteria is I want a
unit that -
1. Will fit cleanly into the hole...

Advice on Pioneer/Sony MP3 Headunit by
pete
I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my existing setup.
I currently have an old Sony XR-C510 h/u, external amp driving front
component speakers and an amp driving a small 8" sub (using bridged mono)
and a Sony CD Changer. I'm generally pleased with the quality but I'd like
to spend some money and upgrade with the possibility of playing MP3s.
I've narrowed my choice in my price range down...

"Running-in" new subs by
Mehmet Sanliol
I've just a bought an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 sub and was told by the
guy in the shop that I need to run-it-in. He told me not to push too many
watts through it until it has had about 30 hours of play at moderate volumes
because otherwise I can damage the voice coil. I am heeding his advice but
does anyone know any more about bedding-in a subwoofer?
Thanks

How to fit a New Head Unit? by
DAB sounds worse than FM in Cars
I've never fitted one before so apologies for any dumb questions.
I've got a Sony MDX C5970R MD tuner which I cannot get out yet because you
need special Sony clips to remove it. But when I do remove it, how do I
install my new Pioneer DEH P77MP mp3 CD tuner?
Do you simply unplug the connector connected to the Sony MD player and plug
in the Pioneer's connector, or are the wires different? If...

MP3 bit rates for in-car by
H
I'm getting my new MP3 HU (Kenwood Z838W) this Christmas from SWMBO.
As this unit is for use in a 1998 Land Rover Discovery TDi (not the quietest
of machines), what bit rate would you guys use to compress the files?
I normally use 192Kbps for use in my MP3 player I use on my bike, but I hear
many people using 256 in cars.
Also - not having used an in-car MP3 player before, how can I store...
