Whats it worth? by Gareth Edwards
Hi I have recently had my Sony head unit (XR-6100R), and my cd multi-changer (CDX-616) stolen out of the car :( As the previous owner of the car installed them, I do not know their value for the insurance. Would anybody know what they are worth? Are they still available to buy, and how much would they cost? Cheers

Cobra alarm pink wire by Paul Morgan
I've recently wired up a spare Cobra alarm taken from a previous car and it now works fine in my second car. I only had a rather sketchy single-page wiring diagram to go on but managed to get there in the end with lots of help from a multimeter. Only thing I can't work out is what the pink wire is for - I suspect it's a valet switch or similar but the diagram has only a picture of some round...

SEAT IBIZA RADIO by Andy
Anyone know how the Grundig Radio/Cassette built into the dash on a SEAT IBIZA Year 2000 detects it has a CD Changer Fitted? I want to adapt it to "fool" into thinking its got a changer so that when I press the CD Button on the panel it will turn off the radio and go into CD mode but at the moment I press the CD button and the display says "Changer" Briefly but radio still stays on. Any Ideas...

Pioneer CD player not working by Kia
I recently purchased a a second hand Pioneer DEH 535R stereo for my car and initially it was working. Now sometimes when I play a cd it will stop and say 'ERROR RD', even though the cd is new or scratch free. However now it refuses to accept the cd into the player, altogether. Because I do not have the manual I don't know whether I have pressed something which has locked me out of the player so...

Power for MP3 Carputer by Andy
I've got my custom software running fine, and all the hardware waiting to go, but I'm having difficulty getting an inverter for the PC that doesn't put noise on the audio system. Anyone know a good inverter / DC to DC ATX supply distributor in the UK for this type of application? Cheers, Andy.

CD ripping s/w by Jim Murray
Used to use Musicmatch Jukebox version 7.00 but now I get a message saying this rev. doesn't support CDDB info, so I downloaded CDex as recommended by a previous post. This works but it's taking around 10 minutes per track to convert to MP3. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? Jim.

Power Surge JVC radio by The Question Asker
Hi, I have a JVC car cd/radio cant remember model number.. Its fitted in a Peugeot 206 1.9TD. All the wires are correctly fitted and secure, but when the ignition is sometimes turned on/off the stereo makes a cracking noise then the screen goes blank, then after a few seconds (About 30) the stereo will work again, with all the preset radio stations reset. All I can presume that happens is that a...

Portable in-car MP3 player by Scooby Doo
Is there a portable MP3 player out there that is 'dockable' once you take it in the car? I guess I'm thinking of something like the iPOD, and when you take it in the car, you can drop it into a cradle (that's permanetly connected to the head unit) and viola - you have MP3 available. Is there such a device available? Thanks

looking for a quality Fusebox..... by Peter Moreton
I'm not involved with in car audio, rather, my firm supplies and fits in-car computers. I'm trying to find a supplier in the UK for a good quality vehicle fusebox, ideally 8 to 12 ways, using standard ATO blade fuses. (My usual supplier is out of stock until early November, and I need something now) I guess that the ICE people must use similar high spec fuseboxes? - could anyone give me some...

Mail order source for Blaupunkt spares? by Phil Striplin
I need an accessory lead for a Daytona - the one that allows use of an auxiliary audio source. Any suggestion where I could order one from mail order in the UK: our town is without a decent audio stockist, and the thought of trying to explain what I want to Halfords is not pleasant. TIA Phil

Hi Can someone tell me the part number I need to order the flexible PCB that runs from the front panel to the main PCB on a KEH-P8400R I thought the part number was CNP-5444 but when it arrived, it was not the correct item. The section of the flexi-pcb that solders to the faceplate connector block was correct, but the other end of the cable had 8 large conductors on it. My

Sat nav help please by Vernon
I am considering buying an in dash navigation system (Alpine), the only drawback is the price, I have found an online retailer that is a lot cheaper, but I am not too sure about doing the installation myself. The headunit is no real problem apart from the speed pulse input. Two questions if anyone can help. Has anyone diy fitted one of these systems, and if so where did you get the speed pulse...
