Alpine and CDR by Ben C
All, I've just put my Alpine CDA-7944R back into the car and it seems that it is not at all happy with modern CDR's (my old batch of about a year ago used to be fine). I've tried 7 different media types with no success. The disk can be read but the unit sounds like it is slipping and eventually picks up and plays after about 30secs to a minute. Dug out some old disks on the previous media type...

Ford Mondeo 2001 model 6000 series radio - wiring loom question by Sailing Pete
Hi all, I accidently pulled the three wires from the remote control unit on the steering column out of the multi-plug connector that goes into the back of the radio. Anybody have a wiring diagram (or is willing to check their own car) for the current Mondeo which shows which wires go to which pins? This connector sits between two others - one is the power loom adn the other is the speakers. It...

Hi Folks, I have a BMW mini cooper with orange dash lighting and dials. It has the stock OEM CD Radio Boost system in it. This is adequate but is really below par compared to what 'could be'. My (flexibleish) set of requirements are :- 1/ the headunit to match the dash lighting (orange) 2/ mp3/wma etc capable head unit 3/ DAB digital radio

Hands free gadget by Tight Guard Security
Anyone seen a small device (about the size of a 10p) you then place it on your mobile & you then tune your radio to settings 88.7 and your phone is then linked up to the car speakers, so when a call comes in it mutes the radio and the sound from your phone comes through your speakers. Any one know the makers the wholesalers ?? Cheers Tracey --

Upgrade from Sony CDX-MP40 by Tim O'Sullivan
Hello there, I have one of these units, and it must be said the sound quality is not that good. Even in the stock speakers in my Skoda Felecia show up that it does not sound as nice as the MD tuner that it replaced. If I have £200 to spend, what would everybody recommend I buy? MP3 would be nice, but not essential. The ability to read CD text would be nice, but that said I would prefer not to...

Facia advice needed please by Lost Soul
Hi, I have a 99 Mondeo (T), I want to replace the existing Ford head unit with a Sony CDX-MP30. After doing a bit of research I now know I need a fascia adaptor. Question is, which one as most online retailers list two types for the Ford Mondeo, FP-07-02-S and FP-07-02. Also would it be a straight swap regarding the rear connectors as I hope to swap the head units over myself to save a few quid...

Sat-Nav for Mondeo by Matt
Hi. Looking at the possibility of installing a satnav system in my '01 Mondeo. Is there anywhere that do salvage units or 2nd hand factory fit units, as I'm a tad reluctant to pay £2000 to Ford for one? Thanks.

I have purchased the various parts that make up the sony erricsson handsfree car kit for my T610 and now need to install them into my VW Golf Mk4.
