I recently bought a Renault Grand Espace (51 reg 2001). The problem is that the guy who sold it to me bought a new remote control for the built in stereo to replace a lost one. It does not work however. I presume the stereo has to be taught some how that this is the new remote ( like you do with a new t.v remote). Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem?

It seems to be stuck although I have undone all the screws (4 - two under ash tray and two near head unit on heater switch surround). A mate of mine want to fit his new Citreon C4 with his Sony MP3 head unit (I forget the model, but its about 12 months old). From what research I've done, their do not appear to be many (any?) stalk/wheel adaptors for using aftermarket head units in the C4. Is this just because its new, or is there some gotcha with it?
