Melted Fuse by
Simon Dean
WEll, my amplifier has been cutting out recently.
I have a JBL 75.4 and it has been rock solid ever since I got Rush's new
R30 CD/DVD combo. The amp was giving surprisingly, rock solid
performance, and I was able to turn the volume up another couple of
notches without distortion.
Over the past couple of days though, things had been cutting out.
Thought it might be over heating.

JBL 75.4 Amp config question. by
Jon
Hi all,
Ive currently got a JBL 75.4 amp installed driving 2 6x9's.
At the moment the head unit delivers Left and Right chanels to the
amps "REAR" connections and the amp is connected to the corresponding
Left and Right "REAR" speakers.
If I want to add a second input source to the "Front" connections of
the amp how do I get the "REAR" speakers to deliver the sound from the

replacement antennas, how good? by
Paul
Hi all,
Here's my dilemma, I've replaced the head unit in my Discovery with a
JVC system that has DAB but I have a couple of antenna issues.
The original unit has a pair of diversity antennas built into the rear
side windows for FM and uses one of them for AM. The JVC is connected
to the side that has the normal motorola style connector on it but
performance isn't too good. It's not completely...

Honda/Bose Connection by
Mike Casswell
I have a hard disk MP3 player
(see http://www.ssiamerica.com/ )
which I happily used in my previous car for more than two
years.
SSI supplied a cable which had a Pioneer bus connector at
one end and two phono/RCA connectors at the other which
allowed audio input whilst leaving control with the MP3
player.

Speaker advice please... by
Jon
Hi all,
I have recently added my JBL GTO75.4 amp to by Sony MD Head unit. All
works fine but I'm finding my speakers arent really upto the job now.
Current speakers are 180W Sony 6x9's that came with the Head Unit.
Could someone please recommend some decent speakers that will handle
the power of the 75.4 and not break the bank whilst still sounding
good?! Is that a cake and eat it question???

Alpine Head Unit with limited power by
raymanlink
Just purchased an Alpine head unit - their top model 9855 I believe.
Had it professionally installed in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder which has a
Bose system. This Alpine has very limited power and is signficantly
less powerful than the factory unit in my wife's Corolla and every
other car I am in. Also the unit does not light when the headlamps are
engaged. It lights up only when I turn the power on...

Replacement for an electic aerial? by
Douglas Hall
I was just hoping for some advice, here.
My car (Volvo S70) has a rear, nearside wing mounted electric aerial. Which
has always been a complete pain - difficult to keep clean / lubed. Over
time, it's had a couple of new masts, and not that long back a new motor.
A couple of days back, it must have failed and had some problem - although
it did retract the aerial, when I returned to the car after...

MP3 player to car audio by
chrisu
hi,
thought I'd see if anyone has any recommendations for a good way of
connecting an MP3 player to a car head unit.
I have a Sony NWHD5 wqhich I'd like to listen to in the car. I had an
ipod with a docking station and the quality was ok - with the Sony and
the generic (belkin) FM transmitter I've tried the quality is poor and
accessing the controls while driving not safe.

Bluetooth Incar handsfree kits?? Attn Jon? by
Tim..
Looking at the Parrot Ck3100 system.
Any good?
what would you guys recommend?
My system consists of a H/U connected via line outs to 4 channel Amp + Sub,
so I am guessing I'll either need some form of extra adapter or some
inginuity to adapt the Parot speaker level output to suit the Amps Line
level input?

iPod integration by
Glenn Richards
Doing some research on behalf of a friend (I have a Sony MEX-1HD, so
don't need this at the moment).
Looking for some means of integrating an iPod. He currently has a Sony
MD head unit with Unilink port, with CDX-656 CD changer. He's quite
happy to lose the changer though and replace it with an iPod if needed.
Now, I've seen this...

Radio's gone doolally... by
Lobster
Started up the car this morning and the radio came on as usual (I
usually have it defaulting to 'on'); however, the normal music and chat
was accompanied by a high-pitched 'beep' about once very second. I've
switched on and off, disabled all the radio's clever functions, but
can't get rid of the beeping. What on earth is it? Help please!
Background:
This is an original factory-fitted...

Car stereo capable of playing MP3 and WMA from DVD-R/DVD+R by
Guy Leech
Does anyone know of a standard DIN size unit that will play MP3 and WMA
files from a recordable DVD disc? My music collection is rapidly filling my
hard drive so I was thinking of finding a unit that could play from DVD so I
can burn the tracks/albums off to DVD-R or DVD+R and get the space on my
hard drive. There do seem to be some dash mounted DVD players that may do
the job but I'm thinking...

Peugeot Stalk to work with Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB 52? by
[email protected]
I've heard some Blaupunkts can work with the Ford stalk, Could I make
my Peugeot 405 stalk (which only has volume up and down and tune up and
down) work with this head unit? I've already got the steering wheel
remote but this doesn't allow me to change through different DAB
stations in the same ensemble which is annoying - could the Peugeot
stalk do this?
