Can anyone point at some sites detailing the various standard connection details that enable you to just "plug in" new units to an existing car installation. I'm interested especially in the pin outs of the many different makes of head unit - the bit that mounts in the dashboard. Thank you. Brian

The original fit Honda radio has an "Aux" input which is a multiway socket (may 10/15 pins I understand) but only 4 pins are used. I'm assuming Left, Right, Ground and another pin to tell the radio the aux input is connected. Anyone know if this is correct, the pins uses, and if the audio inputs are standard levels? TIA

hi from italy i have a BIG problem i've tried to connect a mbus to rca adapter to my alpine 7835 aux in but in the source menu doesn't came out the aux in (only tuner and cd) i think that the problem is that this alpine doesn't have ai net and cant recognise the out only with this adapter. i'm searching a way to force the activation of the aux in.. please help me guys!

Hi I'm trying to connect my old Sony cdx-600 to my new Honda Accord. The Honda has a ISO aerial connection but I can't connect it to the Sony. Looking at the install guide that came with the Sony it seems that when it was new it came with an adaptor that would let you plug in an ISO aerial adaptor but it seems I've never had to use it before so I've lost the adaptor.

I have a mark one clio, and the previous owner changed the stereo and didn't hook up the Remote stalk. I want to buy a new mp3 player for the car and wondered which brands are compatable with the stalk without me having to purchase one of the converters? I recently replaced the tape deck in my car with a cd head unit & changer. However, the sound was distorting at the lower frequencies so I replaced the front door speakers with 3 way speakers to improve the sound quality, particularly the bass frequencies and to get rid of the distortion. The speakers i put in were Kenwood KFC 1789, however the distortion is still there. Any help/advice...

hi. i'm looking at the best way of connecting my w800 (sony ericsson phone/mp3 player) to my audio unit in my W reg Renault Megane (CD player without multichanger) I have an adaptor for my phone which means it outputs straight to a normal small jack socket. i can also easily convert it to 2 normal RCA phono sockets.

Hey Folks, I was in halfords, and as I have a crap car, chose a relatively cheap car-radio. I went for a goodmans GCE-7207i - as it has a direct ipod input which charges the ipod. The equivelant kenwood was £199, but this model was £99 in halfords with free fitting. It did say in the shop 4x40w, but I have since discovered from the manual
