10-CD Changer for HU-650 by
Alex
Hi,
I have a new Volvo with the HU-650 head unit and a 10-CD changer cable
installed.
I know I should have checked before ordering but I am now drawing a blank as
to where I can get an aftermarket 10-CD Changer to fit.
The connectors are both rectangular with 2 rows of pins, a green 10-pin and
a brown 16-pin.
All of the Volvo compatible units seem to be 6-CD with different

ultra-compact subs... by
Tim S Kemp
ok - the volvo is going, the a-class is coming.
Looking at fitting a Blaupunkt Nashville or Woodstock DAB receiver, and a
small sub - don't want to use bootspace so thinking about the under-seat
type.
Clarion, Kenwood or Other - any opinions?
Also does anyone know if the A class (looks like a double din space with a
cassette holder under the standard radio) will take the in-dash blaupunkt

Which JVC Multi Changer by
Barno
Hi all, I have just bought a car which has had a JVC multi changer in the
boot. There is a KSRF10 remote control on the dash and 2 wires in the boot.
One is a white plastic rectangle with a black and yellow wire, and a round
connector. The question is does anybody know what type of changer was
fitted? Will any JVC changer fit these connectors or is it a case of tearing
it all out and starting...

Sony 13pin CD changer cable by
NeedforSwede2
Which Sony changers work with that?
I have a sony XR-C420RDS radio cassette that already has the wiring ran
for the CD changer so I might as well find one that works, because it
sounds quite good.

Boschmann stuff? Any good by
RichardK
I was looking for that rare breed, a 4" midrange speaker for a
factory-fit install, and I'm finding these things called Boschmann on eBay.
They're cheap and I don't know the brand. Are they any good? I've bid on
one pair as an experiment, but some are listed with tweeters which would
suit my application perfectly - if they aren't junk.
Just driving them from a JVC SX998R headunit, nothing...

How do you get the factory head unit out of a Yaris? by
[email protected]
My SO has a 2003 Yaris, and I'm trying to fit an FM modulator to it so
she can listen to her iPod. I spent an hour swearing at the dashboard
yesterday, and completely failed to get the stock HU out, so I'm
wondering if anyone has managed this?
Suggestions on the net led to me pulling off the heater knobs, and
removing the two screws under them - you can then pull the upper part
of the centre...

Fitting aftermarket head units in new peugeots (with can bus) by
[email protected]
Has anyone heard of a solution to fitting aftermarket radios to new
peugeots? I've recently come across an instance of a single cd/radio
being fitted as a direct plug-in replacement for the original radio and
although the new unit seems to work various other systems on the car
(speedo and some warning lights) now do not. I have yet to see the
problem for myself and I don't know the make/model of...

Car PA by
Dr. Compynei
Its my friends birthday soon, and hes into anything for his car atm.
Anything to show off and look tacky at his 'meetings' - where they gather
together and show off xeon headlamps, illuminated window washers etc etc.
Anyway, we thought we would get him a Car PA system, something with a
Microphone, and perhaps a couple of sounds - sirens, animals etc. Obviously,
not for road use, just his...

Sony CD madness by
Delgardo
I had a panasonic tape player that worked fine out of my Alfa 146. I
replaced it with a Sony CD player which worked fine in my previous two
cars. Now I've got a CD player that works half of the time, it
intermitantly cuts in and out randomly.
Sometimes other eletrical equipment will affect it e.g. using the
electric windows, indicators, headlights will cause it to cut out,
sometimes it will not!...

Sound deadening by
Wally
I got a sheet of Ivanhoe sound deadening stuff to try out - want to see how
much difference it makes to the road noise in my '96 Nissan Micra. If it
makes an improvement, I'll consider getting some more.
Question is, where should I put this first sheet? IOW, what part of the car
is likely to be the worst culprit for road noise? I'm thinking of the
boot/hatch floor, mainly because it's the...

problem fitting replacement radio in Omega elite by
paul
I have a 1995 Omega Elite. It had no radio when I got it but did have a
Philips changer in the boot.
I bought a JVC MP3 radio CD and got the appropriate adaptor from Halfords.
The original plug has two familiar iso connectors plus a longer third plug
which I am told sends info to the the computer display and also operates the
changer.
Plugged in switched on but sound is just audable at top...

Dension IceLink installed by Carphone Warehouse by
[email protected]
I want to get an IceLink to play my ipod through the headunit in my
Honda CRV 2005. I know I can install it myself but I also know I'll
probably end up damaging something or bodging it some way. I saw a
leaflet from the Carphone Warehouse saying they'll install it in a
damage free/srewless way. Has anybody here had this done and if so do
they do a good job?

mp3 in volvo s60 by
Tim
Am about to buy a 2yr old S60 SE. Standard setup is fully integrated style
single slot - multi disc ( 4) CD and radio set.
I know my old car's Sony Xplod mp3 head unit won't fit of course, but I also
have just got a creative Zen micro player, and would appreciate advice as to
how to utilize this in the car.
Would not have fancied the "via a cassette unit" type of thingy, as I am
sure they...
