Just recently the display on my Kenwood 8090R has been turning off - the unit still operates just fine though. If I give the display/faceplate a push, it comes back on, and stays on. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the ribbon connecting the faceplate tray (it's a removeable faceplate) to the head unit, can snap internally over time. I've had the unit a couple of years now, and it's used daily....

I am about to install a PC in the car and would like to know if my only options for live on ignition is the cigarette lighter and radio traces. Was wondering if: A) an Audi Sym II Radio/cassette/6CD loader can play MP3 CDs? B) Is it possible, and if so, how to provide a stereo input so can plug a MP3 player's output into the above Audi sound system and have the sound come out of the car speakers. I have a sony xr6600 tape player (in a '95 VW) & maplin's cheapest casette adaptor. The thing works for 3 seconds then ejects, presumably the tape player isn't fooled. Is it possible other makes of adaptor would work better or will this player reject every such device?
