Halfords goes hi-fi! by
Triffid
So one Sunday morning you splash out on some drive units, but they won't fit
in your car. That's all right though, 'cos you've got a garden, an spl
meter and a bloke who knows where he can get some veneer cheap. Et vóila!
They're...

Or perhaps I'm being a little ungenerous. They do /look/ good after all.

How to measure speaker cables? by
Lawrence Leung
Hi, I've been chasing high dollar speaker cables for years, until I finally
want to make one myself.
Could anyone tell me how to measure one speaker cable's inductance and
capacitance using a handheld LCR meter?
Thanks in advance!

I recall seeing a review on the web which had a photo of the inside of one
of these. Despite searching I have been unable to find it again. Can
anyone help with such an image of fair quality?

JBL XPL-200 Input/Ouput Cards for JBL's DX-1 Crossover by
Itchy'n'Scratchie
I need helping in finding 2 sets of JBL XPL-200 Input/Ouput Cards made for
JBL's external active DX-1 Low level network crossover kit?
The cards must suit JBL's XPL-200 speakers.
The DX-1 crossover kit can take a varied number of cards and JBL made cards
to suit a particular range of speakers they sold.
JBL no longer makes these cards so any help finding where I can find these
cards or if...

Tannoy Speaker Cloth by
Ian Bell
I have a lovely old pair of 12inch Tannoy monitor golds in original Tannoy
cabinets. The sound wonderful except for one thing. The speaker grill
cloth has 'relaxed' and buzzes on loud bass notes. Ideally I would just
like to remove the cloth completely but I cannot work out how to get the
front of the speaker off to do this. Anyone had any experience with these
speakers?

Sony Station Identification Transfers by
Oddjob
Hello everyone, this is a real long shot, but I'm after some station
identification transfers that came with some Sony tuners from the early
1980's.
These tuners had a sliding side panel that allowed naming of the presets by
use of these transfers - before the RDS system :-)
Does anybody have any of these or know of a place that I can purchase them?
Does anybody know what I am talking about?

AIWA NSX-D858 HiFi by
TVHWorkshop
Hi,
We have been trying to find a service manual for this unit which is made up
of the following separate modules;
FD-N858 - stereo cassette deck,
RX-N858K - stereo receiver.
Aiwa's UK spares supplier, CPC, don't stock it and Aiwa customer services no
longer print it.
Does anybody either know where I can get a copy or does anybody actually
have a copy that we could buy/borrow please?

Cyrus 6 refuses to play Blur's Think Tank by
kevcam
Thanks for the replies below re speakers ...
Another query, My player wont recognise Blur's Think Tank. Is it because
there are some DVD tracks on it? I dealer told me some of the
security/encryption stuff on Oasis CDs was causing problems for some
players. Has anyone experienced similar problems I wonder.

Mic/Phono preamp by
Mike Gilmour
To audio techies. Is the anything against my occasionally using a Millennia
Media HV-3B microphone preamp as a phonostage just by heading it with an
RIAA network. I hate to see it sitting lonely at quiet times ;-)
Thanks.
