Sorbothane feet by
dorothy.bradbury
I have 2 sets of sorbothane feet left over, they may be of interest:
www.ebay.co.uk as 3060833232 & 3060833231, 3 for 5.99ukp.
Never tried them on speakers - think spikes may be better there,
except if you stick them thro your feet which isn't much fun. BTDT.
Thanks.

second system PC 2.1 speaker reccomendations by
Jonathan Ives
Hi,
can anyone comment on using PC 2.1 speakers systems with a DVD player
to form a simple second system ? (space and price is a premium)
I recall that Monsoon were rated a while bback but I don't see them in
the UK. Anyone comment on the audio benefits of any PC 2.1 speakers
systems (i.e Creative etc)

Denon AVR-1804 opinions? by
Malcolm H
I've been researching AV receivers and have concluded that the spec of the
Denon AVR-1804 meets my requirements.
I would appreciate any comments on the quality/reliability/service etc of
this unit
and how it compares with the Yamaha DSP-AX640.

Universal DVD/SACD Players by
Bedouin
I am thinking that it is time to get a DVD player, and I am thinking of
taking the opportunity to try what the high resolution audio formats (DVD-A
and SACD). I consider vinyl to be my main source but I also have a
reasonably good CD player (Meridian 500 feeding an AudioNote 1.1 DAC).
The main reason for going for a DVD player now is for the Video side
(although I am not too bothered about...

Philips MC500 micro system by
Russell
I'm a bit confused by the product details for the Philips MC500 micro
system. Some sites say it plays mp3s, some dont say, and some say it plays
mp3s from cd and others say you have to connect it to a pc to play mp3s.
Has anyone here got it/used it. Does it play mp3s from cd???
Thanks.

Quad II overhaul by
mutley
Where is a good place to go for Quad II overhaul? Apart from Quad perhaps.
The transformer at the front end (of the unit, that is) appears to have
overheated and melted its pitch. Is there any reasonable standard price
bracket for a full overhaul?

Advice Please by
M
I need a decent phono preamplifier so I can use my turntable with my micro
hi-fi system.
So, it's standard phono in and an output suitable for aux input on the micro
hi-fi ystem that's required.
I've seen these in the past but can't find them anymore.
Either mains or battery operated will be ok.
Anyone?

Nero Wave Editor. by
Jon
Hello All.
I am trying to use Nero Wave Editor to chop some parts out of some audio
files & make the new parts into new files. It appears to be working okay but
the new files are not what I expect.
I end up with three files instead of the one new one. What is going on here?
None of the new files will play so what am I doing wrong?

Rega 2 + Hadcock by
Bob Devine
I've got a Rega 2 classic with a Hadcock 228 arm that I'm planning to sell
(unused for 15 years!). EBay looks the best place, but I'm wondering what
it's worth (to gauge a reserve price). I see occasional Rega 2s for sale,
but the Hadcock is an unknown. Condition of the dust cover is fair, Hadcock
is missing it's small weight that pulls the arm across (put away in a
forgotten safe...

Wharfedale Super 8 by
Oddjob
Hello all, I have a pair of loudspeakers in walnut cabinets.
I couldn't find the tweeter by feeling around the front - the grills don't
come off.
I opened them to find wharfedale super 8 / RS / DD drivers inside. A friend
has told me that they are 1970's with tweeters "built in" to the woofer!
Can anybody shed anymore light on these speakers?
I don't think they can handle much power as they...

creative speakerset + audio components by
Oscar Goosens
Is it possible to combine a P.C. speakerset such as as the Creative Labs
Cambridge soundworks 550 with audio components eg a DVD player and receiver
or is such a set really intended for P.C. soundcards? For instance is the
difference in output power between a soundcard and an AV receiver a problem
for PC speakers?
Thanks oscar
