Beolab 5 by
Tim S Kemp
Spent the afternoon listening to a pair of Beolab 5 speakers, they've
changed my mind about B&O being HiFi for the deaf.
They actually sound great. About 3000-5000 quid great. Shame they cost
nearer 10.
Well done B&O, only 10 yrs of research and development to ake a speaker that
finally doesn't look better than it sounds.

he had to learn to play in C

Wall-mounted CD players? by
Dan
Hi,
I'm on the lookout for a stylish wall-mounted CD player. I've seen these
around before, and they look quite nice (quite like the ones you might see
at HMV).
Are speakers built in? Any good? Know where I might be able to find them /
search term?
Thanks,

WTD: Sony PS-Q3, Q3a or Q7 turntable (or similar). by
Brian Jennings
I am looking for a working micro turntable, and the three mentioned above
are those that I know of.
If anyone has one of the above (or something of a similar size/spec, aprox
7 inches wide) for sale, then I would be very interested in buying it from
you.
It must be 100% working, cosmetic condition is not so important, although
better condition would be preferred.

CJ 140 by
Mike Gilmour
Getting past all the marketing hype, is the CJ Premier 140 Power Amplifier
really that accurate? At £7K its almost at the budget end ;-
) of the high end valve stereo power amplifier strata. I haven't heard it
yet though I'm on the lookout for the elusive Holy Grail..an 'accurate'
valve power amp. The Premier 8's have been superceded by the 140 according
to the blurb.
Please no tube=euphonics...

Time to replace my B&O for wi-fi hi-fi? by
Neil Benson
My current home hi-fi set-up is a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 9000 with a pair
of BeoLab 8000 speakers. But since I bought an iPod six months ago, the B&O
rarely gets used, other than as an amp for the iPod.
I'm considering replacing the B&O set-up with something more suited to my
requirements. My main PC is in another room, and I'm considering Wi-Fi Hi-Fi
so that I can listen to more of my music in...

Newbie Xmas present problem )o: by
Ian
Hi Group,
Sorry if my question is a bit "lame" for your group but I'm more
expert with PC related problems.
So what I need enlightened in is that my 15yo son has his existing
Cambridge Audio A1v2 amp and has (in the past ..now blown !!) been working
fine with a pair of standard old 30w rms Pioneer spreakers.
He's now went out after Xmas and spent just over £120 on A pair of Eltax
Symphony 8.3...

Klipsch K-2 tweeks? by
Tada
I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of old K-2s the other week at a
garage sale for a pittance. Never one to leave well enough alone, I was
wondering if anyone has done any mods to these to perhaps open up the
sound stage yet tighten up imaging?
All ears,
A.T.

Amp/speaker issues by
Nick J.
Hello,
My amplifier/speakers have recently started playing funny buggers. It's
a Cambridge Audio A5 biwired in to a pair of Eltax Liberty 3+.
The speakers appear to have become out of phase somewhat or somehow --
not entirely out of phase, but enough to be noticable (and annoying).
I've ensured that all the cables are of the correct polarity.
It's also developed a strange frequency shift...

Wally's webpage by
Keith G
There's a new webpage from Wally on the uk.rec.audio.* webpages.
Go to http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/ and click on his name. Note that he
subscribes to the 'no two bits the same shape or size'** school of audio
gear that I do! (Don't know where he keeps his turntable though......???)
:-)
(I still need a dozen more hits to get into 5 figures.....!! ;-)
