Mixing music and voice by
Swake
How can I mix, music (from my hd.) with my (mic.)voice, while I hear the
music and commentate it, save it in a music-file (Mp3/Wav...) to burn it
on
audio-cd?
I like to decrease the volume of the music while i'm speaking... something
like in Pinnacle Studio 8 where are three sound-tracks who separately can be
de- or increased...but there is no way to burn it on audio-cd in this
particular...

FA: Turtle Beach Tahiti sound card by
Chesney Christ
Hope nobody minds me posting here :) But I'm selling my old Turtle Beach
Tahiti ISA sound card. The convertors on this little card sound clean
and quite incredible - totally noise-free (record on it with no signal
connected and you'll see what I mean), and I figure somebody somewhere
might be able to use it to build a little two-track recording facility
out of an older PC with an ISA slot -...

Aiwa LCX micro advice, please? by
John Fryatt
I have a little old Aiwa LCX-500 micro. it's not hi-fi really but it
serves a turnin my conservatory.
I don't have a remote and I don't know what model/part no. the remote
is. Can anyone advise please?
(I think the LCX-500 was in a series so any other LCX model might use
the same remote... maybe.)
Thanks, John

Quad 34 help by
nicolas
Hi,
I inherited a Quad 34 pre that weirds out now and then. The preamp
comes on, with the default source selected. Either by itself, or when
selecting another source, all the selector leds light up dimly, and
the sources are lost (pre does not work).
Any one have a schematic that they may scan for me. It seems that the
tactile switches drive a row of 8 transistors that probably do the
switching...

DVD-player for CDs - track information display? by
John Allen
I'm looking at a couple of fairly cheap DVD players as options to replace a
defunct CD player in a stereo hifi system.
Leaving aside issues of quality (which seem to have been aired repeatedly in
previous posts in this and other newsgroups), I'm curious as to whether some
models do or do not show track and elapsed time information on their
built-in displays, when playing audio CDs. This player...

Celestion DL6 replacement? by
Wally
A mate has recently got on loan a pair of Celestion DL6 speakers and stands.
Not surprisingly, they sound rather a lot better than the little bookshelf
speakers he was using previously (if such things are quantifiable, the
improvement seems to me to be between 1 and 2 orders of magnitude).
He's already realised that, when the Celestions are returned (probably in a
few months), he'll find it very...

FS: A few amps and other bits and bobs... by
Keith G
My recent (futile but fun) exchanges with our resident 'Insect Biologist'
(discoverer of the 'Molton Larva' one wonders? ;-) in respect of the
various merits/demerits of SS/valve amplification led me to revist my
Technics SS power amp yesterday (with valved pre's, naturally).
I had it running until I realised I wasn't listening to it (my 'yardstick'
for such experimentation) and then cut my No....

DVD audio by
RA in2004
Can you help a newbie?
If I add a cheap dvd player to my (older) system by feeding the video on
scart via my vhs recorder (nicam) (on aux) through to the tv (on scart), and
take the audio from the vhs audio out into my pro-logic hi-fi ...
Will I hear a full dolby pro audio signal (my amp won't do 5.1, its an older
theatre sound system) or just flat stereo.
- I get the full pro logic audio from...

If HiFi reviewers taught maths....... by
Andy Evans
OK, class, lets start with 2+2. First, we need to wait a couple of hours for
these numbers to warm up and achieve their full potential. Ideally they should
be thought of a day in advance. We noticed immediately that these numbers have
a warm, friendly valve-like quality with none of the brightness and edginess
of, say, 5 or 13. The numbers were first tried out in a HP 2385F calculator
system....

Seeking European connectors for Goodmans amp and speakers - connector.bmp (0/1) by
Notone Fornames
The matching speakers for a Goodmans Module 90 series amp were
recently lost. The connectors for the speaker wires, were a strange
(at least to me) two-blade configuration, with one pin at 90-degrees
to the other. I'd like to find a Canadian source for the connectors,
but I am unable to find ANY reference by searching the Internet.
The jacks for the plugs I seek are labelled LS1 and LS2 on the...
