Edge connectors - which to use? by
Andy Evans
I want to join two top plates with an edge connector which is at least 12 way
and preferably 15 way. Purpose - exchanging tube circuits that plug into a
basic PSU + OPT base. The connections will be up to 4 heaters for up to two DH
or IDH output tubes (say 1.6amp each for 6550), heaters for input tubes, anode
and screens, bias volts DC, B+, earth and possibly input signal + and -. Max
width is...

Sony Hard disk recorder problem by
Craig
Well I never got anywhere near writing software for it and the damn things
screwed up.
I'm just getting a Format Error message. I guess its back to Sony unless
anyone knows a way out of it.
I'd got nearly 200 albums on it, makes you wonder if it's worth the trouble
:(

Test tones into reflex cab by
Wally
Just been here...
http://www.nch.com.au/tonegen/index.html

you can set up tones and save them as wave files, so I duly made a test tone
CD with the following frequencies played as 0dB sine waves lasting a few
seconds each...

Does anyone know of a plug-in that will work with a Logic based DAW that
actually generates LP record type noise - clicks, pops surface noise,
that sort of thing?

CD and Amp upgrade by
Myself
Hi,
My Trusty Pioneer A400 feeding Acoustic Energy AE109's via DNM reson biwire.
For CDs I'm using a Toshiba SD220e DVD player.
Pretty good components in their day (some not too old) but I've had the amp
now about 13 years, the DVD isn't ideal for music - speakers I'm more than
happy with.

Recording from Realplayer problem by
Nozza
I have recorded a program using Realplayer from the BBC.
When I listen to the stream using realplayer the "volume" seems pretty
constant. If I record this using Wavelab to capture the "Wave" (as
opposed to Line in etc) the volume varies between quiet and loud and
back again.
Is there a way around this? How do other people record from
Realplayer.

Being Socially Useful by
David Houpt
Hi
I haven't posted for a while, but seeing an amplifier get a rave
review when it has a distortion level of 2.3% rising to 4% at full
output provoked me. Its the Graaf GM20 reviewed in the November issue
of Hi Fi World. Yours for a mere £3,300. Is the world going mad? I
though that the idea was that amplifiers had as little distortion as
possible. 0.1% as Harold Leak used to claim.
What would...

I you have cards you don't want to get rid of, any photos of the low and
