My Linn LP12 has I think the newer higher Quality base board, not the hardboard type which I removed to install a very long new mains lead. I did not bother to make a note, as to which way it should be replaced Is the round hole supposed to be where the tone arm cable connects to the tone arm???

My twin cassette tape recorder which I've used for recording off the radio is on it's last legs and wants replacing. Strange one this... I've had 3 years + cracking service from me Arcam CD72 until tonight. On switching the unit on, the CD tray pops out 2/3rds of the way and then retracts. I am then unable to operate any of the buttons to open the tray. I even managed to get a CD into the tray before it retracted... but I'm still unable to get the blasted thing to work... All the right lights are on, but...

They were built in the same factory in Scotland (nr the airport) I was also told that Linn patented the design and sold thousands of LP12's while the owner of Ariston committed suicide.
