Linn LP12 Base Board by Dave xxxx
My Linn LP12 has I think the newer higher Quality base board, not the hardboard type which I removed to install a very long new mains lead. I did not bother to make a note, as to which way it should be replaced Is the round hole supposed to be where the tone arm cable connects to the tone arm???

Looking to purchase bulk audio solution by Laurence Fear
I am looking for an audio solution for a large number of projector installs I am about to carry out. I though someone may have some product or ideas that will help me. I install ceiling mount LCD projectors into schools and have been asked to provide audio as well. The low level (line level) audio comes from the PC or DVD player or VCR player to the projector, then there is an output to an amp....

Music Recording Club by Ian Bell
I am thinking of starting a club for all those in North Norfolk (UK) interested in recording music. I am thinking primarily of musicians and such like who want to record themselves, their band or their compositions or people who, like myself, are interested in recording such people. Obviously newsgroups like alt.music.4-track etc cover this sort of thing but they operate on a world wide basis. I...

Anyone got any plans for these and know of a good Joiner firm with Speaker enclosure Experience in Essex, UK? I heard some guy who used to make Turbosound boxes (Officially) is in Essex, bit I don't have his contact details. Thanks in advance

Advice re using one pair of speakers but two amps by XP-38
I have a Monitor Audio Bronze B2AV package connected to a Sony STRDB940 receiver. The receiver is not that great with stereo music reproduction. I would like to get a separate stereo amp for listening to music, however, I would still like to use the Monitor Audio Bronze B2 fronts. How would I go about using the speakers with the stereo amp while they are connected to the Sony Receiver. I don't...

FS: or Swap Digital Camera by Keith G
Not actually FS: - I did that for the spam blockers. Some time back, someone (sorry to say I dont remember who now) said they were trying (struggling?) to get the necessary together to get themselves a digital camera. Well a nice little camera has hit me upside the head and there may be an opportunity for someone! - Put simply, I 'upgraded' my son and it turns out he didn't need...

My twin cassette tape recorder which I've used for recording off the radio is on it's last legs and wants replacing. I've only just found out about CD recorders and quite like the look of the Phillips 796. I can't seem to be able to find any reviews about it and would like to know does anyone have one and what do they think? May thanks. pazbhan

Spoken word recording equipment? by OrmesbyJohn
Thinking about buying equipment principally to record spoken word - record conversations of children, grandchildren, ancient Aunts etc for posterity. But what to buy?...anything considered...wouldn't skimp on cost for suitable gear. Would want very good quality recording. Thanks.

Musical Fidelity product history by Simon
I've scoured the internet (well the internet according to Google) and can find very little about the older products which Musical Fidelity have made in the past. Particularly interested in the A400 and Typhoon power amplifiers. Anyone?

Faulty Arcam CD72 by o r b s c u r e DDJ
Strange one this... I've had 3 years + cracking service from me Arcam CD72 until tonight. On switching the unit on, the CD tray pops out 2/3rds of the way and then retracts. I am then unable to operate any of the buttons to open the tray. I even managed to get a CD into the tray before it retracted... but I'm still unable to get the blasted thing to work... All the right lights are on, but...

Linn and Ariston by Oddjob
Hello all, I've just bought an RD80 and was told that it was the model the LP12 was based upon. They were built in the same factory in Scotland (nr the airport) I was also told that Linn patented the design and sold thousands of LP12's while the owner of Ariston committed suicide. Is the above correct? If so, shame on all you LP12 owners.

FA. TDL RTL3 Floorstanding Speakers. by Adam Porter
Hia, I used to frequent this forum a few years ago, and only recently discovered the Newsgroup viewer doofer on Google... doh. Anyway, I have a pair of nice sounding RTL3's for sale as they can be no longer situated in our recently redecorated kitchen... grr See the link for full details, and collection from Leicester is advised, although I can deliver up to a 50 mile radius for an extra

Aliante info. by Vince Mackenzie
Hi All Just a quick question!!! Anyone had any experience of Aliante speakers. Would like some feedback good or bad on them. The reason for the request is that we are importing some from the manufacturer. So would like some idea what people think of them if anything. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Before any one shouts its just a question not trying to sell anyone anything. Cheers Vince
