SoulSurvivor
Hi there,
I'm in search of a Hi-FI CD seperate which also plays MP3 CDs. Is
there such a thing?
The nearest i can find is the Sony CDX-D400 which had a Minidisc

The Bubbles are pinching my pix! by
Keith G
I just followed a link in the February 2004 ACA Newsletter to a 'new
Technics turntable' on the Audiophile Club Of Athens website http://aca.gr/
and find myself looking at my very *own* turntable! (Sold on some time ago,
now...)
I'm not sure whether I'm flattered or bemused by it...!!! Bleedin' cheek!
(Reminds me we had a birdfood catalogue through the door once with *my*

Cord question by

Peeing on the cord would take care of your partiality to YellO. The only
real question is what brand of Beer & how much do you drink before & what
part of cable to concentrate on to optimize desired results.

I am partial to YellO as my primary candidate for such an event. I suspect
my cries will yield a deep, rich, lush bass. I do NOT want hear chants of
"snake oil" from those who believe any low-fi cord will yield the same
results.

Laptop DJ Soundcard Recommendations? by
Jase
Does anyone have any recommendations for laptop sound cards? I'm looking for
one capable of professional DJ use with a large sound system, and with two
separate outputs (one for headphones and one for speakers). e.g. is the Echo
Indigo any good (http://www.echoindigo.com/index.html)?
Also, any recommendations as to the best place to purchase this hardware
from within the UK?
TIA.

AudioPhool 2004 Catalog In! by

Anyone who has been around High End Audio for any length of time and has a
sence of humor ought to get a few chuckles out of this. Reminds me of the
parody that Audio magazine used to run in their april addition may years
ago. They would run a test review on the some type of mythical audio
product. It was an April Fools prank, and only stupid people believed it;
sorta like those that choose to...

Accidentally played distorted wavefile on Marantz SR5300 and Xitel Pro Hi Fi Link by
Michael Williams
I have a Marantz SR5300 receiver and I have a Xitel Digital Pro Hi Fi
Link connected between it (via a digital coaxial input) and my PC's
USB port. I've had it set up for about a month and it's great (sound
quality and all) and I usually use it to play MP3 files via WinAMP.
But this afternoon, I had set up a MP3 playlist for the computer to
play as I was doing household chores. I went down to...

Cartridge for DUAL 505? by
s a k
Hi,
Hope you can help. Got a Dual 505.1 which is in reasonable nick (on an
Cambridge Audio A1 mk3), but it needs a new stylus. Its got a Ortofon
OM10 cart, but someones offered me an Ortofone/Dual TKS 49S cart for
not alot of money. Would that be a good substitute?
I've also read that an Audio Technica AT 110 E would also be a
worthwhile substitute. Is this so?

Recording a concert by local choir by
steve
I may want to have a bash at making a recording of my wife's choir. I
realise it will not be remotely professional quality, but I hope I could do
better than a portable cassette deck!
I had in mind recording in two ways:
1. On my Sony Minidisc player
2. On my PC, creating a WAV file onto the hard disc, which I could later put
onto CD.
I have an old but decent (I think) pair of panasonic...
