Stuff for sale by
James Perrett
I'm having a clearout and have put up a page of hifi and electronic gear
that has got to go. There's a Garrard 301 there together with a few
other hifi bits and the first of a few old valve radios. I'll add more
stuff as I get around to dusting it off and photographing it.
Take a look at http://www.jrpmusic.fsnet.co.uk/forsale.html for details.
Cheers.
James.

Studio monitors in $300 range? by
JJSmithin
What would you recommend to get for studio monitors in the $300 range? This
for home studio in office that is not set up with acoustic walls or
anything. Just drywall and furniture. I would like to set them up on stands
at about ear height and would be within a couple feet of me. These could be
used and Ebay available.
Should I get active monitores bi-amped etc. Or is it ok just to use my...

CD cleaning products by
Will Reeve
Hi,
Anyone know where I can get a CD hydrobath cleaner? This looks about the
best CD cleaning solution, but I can't find one anywhere! I also wonder if
anyone has bought a skip doctor? Do they work? I buy quite a few second hand
CD's and while most clean up with a cloth OK the odd one has some scratches
which cause skipping or worse a rapid repeat!
I would welcome any recommendations,

Any Murrard experts here? by
Keith G
No time to stop atm - I'm on a thrasher today, but I would just like to
briefly pose this question:
I've just bought some 'NOS Mullard' ECF82s off eBay, supposedly of French
production. They are in white boxes and look good - too damn good, in fact.
I suspect they may be fakes and wonder if anyone here can tell from this
snap:

Panasonic SCEN9 DAB Micro HiFi System review? by
No-Spam
Does anyone have a view on the Panasonic SCEN9 DAB Micro HiFi System;
I love the styling - but how does it sound (I'm looking for a kitchen
background music system)?... and does it have any inputs (for PC MP3
player inputs)?

A little show-and-tell by
Wally
Finally got round to making a web site for my audio and electronics stuff.
The address is...
http://audio.yachtsea.com/
It's under construction at the moment, and the subdomain may take a few
hours to activate. The webcam is currently pointing at the laptop's screen,
showing the output from my first attempt at an active low-pass filter.
The o/p is generated from a sweep oscillator, goes...

I found this great little site by
I found this great little site
I found this great little site. I signed up two weeks ago and got 2 Disney tickets and this week they are sending me 2 Universal Studios tickets. Here's the link http://66.219.102.40/ and by the way I am a real person, this is my real email address. I'm not a spammer and didn't appreciate the nasty email I got last time I tried to post this link.
Thanks,...

New Kennedy assassination audio! by
BKJ
I am looking for TV and radio broadcasts of the JFK and RFK
assassinations. I am particularly interested in audio recordings of
such broadcasts made by amateurs.
If you personally tape-recorded -- or know of anyone else who
tape-recorded -- any television or radio broadcasts concerning one or
both of the two Kennedy assassinations in 1963 and 1968, please
contact me.
Whether it's a network or...

Exposure 2010 amp by
mikea
Anyone tried one of these? I'm looking for a decent rock amp, considering
the Rotel 1062 and the exposure. The exposure costs a couple of hundred quid
less.

Transistors - Old Technology? by
Stewart Pinkerton
OK, I'll 'fess up. The bipolar transistor was invented in 1947, as is
well known, but almost all modern electronics uses MOSFETS, which were
patented in 1928 by the brilliant Julius Lilenfield, who also patented
the junction FET in the same year.
However, the advance in solid-state amplifier techniques since that
time has been massively greater than that of the thermionic amplifier.

Can a cheap CD-R break a CD player? by
Martyn B Tindall
A mate of mine says his CD player has packed up and blames a faulty
CD-R given to him by a mutual friend. The same friend has given me
lots of CDs, and many of these suffer from skipping/jumping/noise. I
suspect it's because our friend uses the cheapest available blanks.
I'm concerned because I've just spent a lot of money on a CA Azur
player and don't want to put it at risk. Is my mate...
