PC based CD players are all very eager to go out on the Internet to find out information about the tracks on the CD that I want to play. Isn't the same information on the CD itself already? And is there a standard way of putting the metadata (track tags) on the CD, so that I can put it there myself when I burn my own CD? bin

Any advice on a microphone for an alto sax? There seem to be two distinct requirements: A single microphone near the bell for playing through an amp. A stereo pair for recording. I have recently purchased a home cinema system for my bedroom. Toshiba 340E DVD player, Denon 2105 AV Receiver, Wharfedale speakers (4 x 8.3+, 1x8 centre). I am using the DVD player to play cds at the moment and am planning to get rid of my old HIFI as it is redundant now. How has upgrading you system changed your CD buying habits? Do you spend more money on demo disks? Do you buy stuff you don't really like just becaused it is a 'DDD' CD, HDCD, SACD? Ever bought a disk just because you read some one had used it as a listening test cd in a reveiw? Can you honestly say you just buy the music you want to listen to, or has getting the best out of your system...

DET5 Marconi vintage valve, It is obviously a prewar British DHT. Same balloon shape like the first PX25, except 1/4 inch higher and heavier.(DET5 150gr. PX25 97gr.) An equivalent is probably CV0384. Does anybody have info/data about this valve? Is it good in a SEDHT amp? Will it do the same job as a PX25?

Hi all, Does anyone have a Rotel RCD-02? Mine is new, and won't play any CD which is even slightly marked. Any other player in the house plays these disks no problems. I tried burning one of these disks to a pristine blank, but the player won't even recognise that disk. Are these players stupidly, unusably fussy, or does this suggest mine is faulty?
