Cambridge Audio 340 by
Niall Rooney
Greetings,
Looking for a budget amp + cd around the 300 pounds mark (ex speakers
and cables). I saw in local Richer Sounds the new Cambridge Audio 340a
and 340c at 150 pounds per box. The RS guy only had it in a few weeks
and had not tested it, nor are there reviews yet. Anyone got one and
can provide feedback ?
Thanks
Niall

Thanks.

REQ: Help from Jazz FM Late Lounge Listeners - Unknown.zip (00/41) by
Steve
Please could someone give me any information on a song that used to
be played on The Late Lounge,
I stumbled upon the Late Lounge some 7 mths after it first started
when Clare Anderson was presenting it, so that gives you some idea
how long ago this was.
Because the song is instrumental there are no lyrics but I have
discovered they have used voice overs from the film "Body Heat".

Dave xxxx
New Stuff, I am not sure if I have posted already, but my memory is crap

a 202 pre amp 200 power 05 tuner and CDX2 cd player and a little power
supply that powers some of the pre amp 202

Compression - when to apply by
Weatherman
Dear all,
I've been trying hard, through looking through the archives and newsgroups,
etc as well as reading up, about compression. As a newbie, I understand WHAT
compression is supposed to achive - more or less, still learning. But I am
still stuck at HOW you actually apply it.
Do you apply compression to an incoming signal as it is played "live", or do
you apply it to a pre-recorded track...

FS: Linn Pekin Tuner (Silver) by
TF
I have owned this for a year and am moving across to a Classik Movie
which has its own tuner in it. So I am reluctantly selling it. This is
a Silver model. The Pekin is Linn's latest tuner and was a significant
improvement on the Kudos which it replaced. This has the slimline
Swicthed Mode PSU inside. Comes with high quality interconnect. Remote
Control, fully Boxed and its in absolutely lovely...

Speaker cable termination choice by
Ronnie Davis
Hi,
Looking to replace my bi-wired speaker cable terminations. My local hi-fi
dealer is selling banana plugs at £1.50 which are the ones which don't need
soldering.
Does anyone know where I purchase these online cheaper?
Are they as easy to fit as the dealer says?

2 way split? by
Keith G
Anybody know what happens if you split the signal from a source 2 ways (to 2
amplifiers) with a '1 goes into 2' RCA phono adaptor??
Is the signal weaker? Does it matter if the signal is a) only being used by
one amp or b) used by both amps at the same time (unlikely)???
Apologies if this sounds dim, but I have no real idea and I have the
adaptors and the need....

Every amp in one by
JustMe
In the "Amp swap disappointment" thread, below, Ian has said that it's
possible to accurately measure the differences between each amp and, I would
assume, judge just what it is about one amp that might make it preferable to
another amp, to some listeners.
Would it therefore be possible for someone to take a "straight-line" amp -
and I'm happy to accept whatever you judge to be a representation...

Problems with DTS 96/24 track on Peter Gabriel "Play" on Denon AVR-2805 by
Simon Long
Hi All,
I've just bought (and am slowly getting to grips with...) a Denon
DVD-2910 universal player and a Denon AVR-2805 receiver. I've been
feeding them with a selection of CDs, DVD-As, DVD-Vs and SACDs, and on
the whole am pretty pleased with the results.
However, this evening I put on Peter Gabriel's new "Play" compilation
DVD-A, which is one of the first releases to use DTS 96/24....
