Sony HD1 in-car charger by
shell
I have a sony NW-HD1 mp3 player, I've spent ages trying to find a
compatable in car charger for it. To charge it from the mains it sits in a
cradle and lead from the mains goes into a 6v DC in plug.
There are pictures on here, so you can see the connections.

If anyone can find me a car charger for it I would be eternally grateful.

Morning K the K
You did not reply to my e-mail about the
"Valve amp basics" text, so presumably it does
not interest you.
I get the feeling you are falling into line
behind Oinkie, slowly but surely.
Maybe that's a tactical necessity
if you want to maintain

Another small diaphragm mic test by
Don Pearce
Same Panasonic electret capsule, five feet from the speakers -
straight into a laptop.
This one is Bird on a wire, by Jennifer Warnes. It reveals the
less-than-ideal acoustics of my sitting room quite nicely. I have now
decided that I really must to something about the rather boomy bass,
even though I don't really notice it in normal listening.

Marantz CD Player Model CD 52 II SE by
Bruce
My 12 year-old Marantz CD player, as above, has developed a CD tray
problem. The plastic splined pulley which opens the tray has crumbled
along the spline. The tray now functions in a very jerky way and
occasionally needs a little manual assistance.
My local repair shop tells me that a replacement pulley is no longer
available, but I'm very reluctant to give the player the heave as
there's...

Best Sound Engineering Degree by

"Someone Out In Space" wrote in message

Hi, I'm a guy from Italy who decided that sound engineer can be his
profession.
Now I wonder to know which are the best Universities which offers a
"sound engineering" or "audio engineering" degree. Here in Italy we
don't have anything like that in University, only...

Meanwhile, back in the Jungle by
Iain M Churches
Hope you will enjoy Jungle Jamboree.
The recording dates from 1930.
It takes only six bars to travel from jungle
clearing to Main Street, New Orleans.
This track has excellent solos, clarinet at 1m06
(Barny Bigard?) humorous and restrained, and
Arthur Whetsol - trumpet at 1m39s.

Good guys and bad guys... by

OK, I see the topic of 'good guys' and bad guys' is with us again. Puts me
in mind of this snuppet from my mispent youth:

High quality digital-out? by
Chip
At the weekend my trusty Tag DVD32R DVD player died :-( Being such an
expensive device in the first place (it cost me £4,000), the repair cost is
likely to be horrendous, I would imagine. And for straight DVD replay, the
Tag was getting a bit long in the tooth anyway (no prog scan, no hdmi, no
DVI, no upscaling, won't play DVD-R's, etc etc etc.) So I am considering my
options.
The one...

Items for sale - last chance clearance! :-) by
Keith G
I've had an 'Items For Sale' page on my website for a while now:
http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/itemsforsale/itemsforsale.htm
.....not mentioned here (as far as I know?) as I don't like to spam the group
with 'sales posts', but I'm going to take it down shortly - keeping some of
the items and maybe eBaying the others. If anyone is interested in anything
and wants to haggle for a 'last...

ZU Wax Speaker Cable (a Kimber basher?) by
Mark & Mel
Hi,
Has anyone heard of this US Loudspeaker Cable manufacturer?(
www.zucable.com ) I was speaking to a friend who uses their "Wax" cable and
he couldn't praise them enough, he says his Wax out performs his now
disowned Kimber Kable 8TC.
I'm intrigued! Is there anybody in the UK who uses ZU cable? Your info will
be greatly received.

Oh Joy! by
Iain M Churches
..........to borrow a quote from Stanley Unwin.
Yesterday, I received a tea-chest containing
78rpm records, which I had planned as a restoration
project for the autumn. But I just couldn't resist taking
a peek:-)
The first disc I pulled out just 'appended to be
a very grey 1931 Decca shellac pressing of King Oliver's
"Sugar Foot Stomp" by the Fletcher Henderson Orchestra.
