music on this site too soft by
Can someone please send, 'Letters from home' as an attachment?
http://military.accaw.org/somegaveall/index_256th.html
Is the music on this site too soft, too loud, should something else?
Or, should slides have music?
Thanks! Gary - LsuEdu At Msn Dot Com

wanted: Celestion Ditton 15 tweeters by
salmonsm
Hello,
One of the tweeters is going bad on my Ditton 15s. I'm looking
nominally for a replacement tweeter, but would consider buying a pair
or even getting a set of the newer ones to make my 15s 15XRs- or would
that work, even? Anyway... if anyone has tweeter(s) to sell please let
me know. Thanks... Michael Salmons

How best to record talks on CDs? by
Ellie
Hi,
I don't know what is the best recording product for me. I would be most
grateful if you could please help.
I am a music teacher and I have been asked to put some talks onto
home-made CDs for some blind people in my neighbourhood who are
interested in learning about classical music. So what I am hoping for
is a simple piece of equipment which I can record my talks into - by way
of a good...

Horn speaker - mid or tweeter? by
John Smith
Hi,
I recently obtained a pair of Technics SB-440 speakers.
These have a horn speaker at the top of the cabinet. When I first got them I
assumed the horn was a tweeter with a pair of mid-range standard speakers
under a grill just below the horn mouth and a 10 inch woofer below them. On
further investigation (I took the grill off :-) ) I found just one 3 inch
speaker under the grill and a bass...

Leak 3020 speakers by
Anton Gÿsen
Hi group,
I picked up a pair of old-but-gold Leak 3020 speakers at a car boot sale
today for £30. I'm well chuffed.
I'm just wondering how much these are worth (not that I want to sell
them, far from it!). I reckon if I were to put them on eBay tomorrow I'd
get about £150-200 for them, but that's just a stab in the dark.
I don't really know how to describe the sound difference, but they make...

CD Playing Badly (Copy Controleld) by
Steve Reeves
Hi all,
Just joined the group - so I haven't really spent enough netiquette time
browsing - but I have a problem that is p***ng me off a bit - I was
hoping somebody could help. I hope you don't mind the quick post.
I have just bought Moby's new album 'Hotel'. I play all my CDs on my PC
(about 2 years old) but this CD is awful, it pops, crackles and
sometimes the sound justs cuts out for a...

JBL creature voltage convertor? by
Tom Corcoran
I purchased JBL's creature II
(http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3960821) in the usa.
The voltage converter takes 120v and outputs 18v 3.5A.
The jbl faq says :
Can I use a voltage converter for another country outside of the U.S.A?
You cannot use a voltage converter for this speaker system. It is
designed specifically for regional voltages (US, Euro, UK and Asia).

Additional Speakers by
smb
I've got an AV Receiver in my living room, and want to feed some extra
speakers (stereo only) in the kitchen. I want to be able to mute the
sound in the living room if I want, whilst still hearing the sound in the
kitchen, and vice versa. The cable run will have to be about 10 metres.
The AV Receiver only has one set of speaker outputs. However, it does
have pre-outs, as well as tape loop...

mono to stereo by
Robert
In the early days of stereo it was common to get stereo records
realeased with a "mono recording reprocessed to give a stereo effect".
Now that the introduction of DAB has caused many stations to revert to
broadcasting in mono there must be a new market for a "mono to stereo
effect" processor.
Is there such a thing? Do any DAB receivers include one?

Archiving to DVD by
andy
I am considering archiving 24/96 files to DVD but I am having one or
two problems. If I simply copy the files to a UDF filesystem on the DVD
my universal player will not play them back. This is not necessarily a
stopper but it would be a significant advantage to be able to hear what
is on the DVD. However, if I mangle the files a bit into a DVD-Audio
format/arrangement the universal player will...

OK another little (triple purpose) comparison... by
Keith G
Here's another little comparison between 3 variants of the *same model*
cartridge.
First question is 'Name That Tune' (I asked Don to pick summat, but he
didn't come back on it, so I chose this) - anybody here got a clue who the
band is? My guess is that *nobody* knows them. Clue - the LP itself is
probably older than a good few here and you would have to be seriously cool
(a long time ago)...

Behringer active crossover by

I ordered a Behringer 3-way active crossover...

tri-amping project - splitting the top/mid from the bass. The following is
what I wrote last night in an email to a couple of mates. (For those that
don't already know, the Arcam Alpha is an original Mk1 version, and...
