Patchbays/Jackfields. by
Gazza
Hi,
I am looking for a patchbay that does not require plugging patch chords into
it's front panel (which is how the traditional patchbay is). Instead, I
would like a box, at the back of which I plug in cables coming from all my
audio source equipment and all my audio destination equipment and which has
rows of switches on the front panel to connect any source to any
destination. I have not...

Tatu need all 12 inches by
Triffid
There, that got your attention!
http://www.lonesometwin.co.uk/temp/30_Minutes_(Remix)_Tatu.mp3 (8.2Mb)
Bit of an exercise regime for those with REL's and Krells. Whatever their
good points an SET valve effort just can't do it justice, however as a
preamp it could be good. If anyone's got some spectrum stuff I'd be
interested to know how low this does go.
Only up till Sunday morning.

Classic FM Cock-up? by
Keith G
Listen to this (40 seconds) and tell me:
http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/Classic%20Cock-Up.mp3
1) Does this not imply that Faure's fabulous Requiem is too boring for
'Classic FM Babies' ?? (I wonder what the 'Brainiac' that devised that one
got paid for doing it?)

DAT media tapes - advice needed. by
Richard Mace
Hi,
I have recently picked up a SONY DAT machine and
I am looking for suitable tapes. Would I be able to use
DAT "computer data backup tapes" for example, the DAT72. If so, how much
recording time would they provide?
My machine is a SONY DTC55ES (Japanese domestic version, purchased in Japan)
This is similar to the DTC 700 but without the serial copy management stuff,
I believe.

SETs Offenders Register by
Keith G
OK. It goes like this:
You get back into playing music after a couple of hectic decades when you
just didn't have time (or inclination) to bother with it. First mistake you
make is buy an 'all in one' Sony FM/CD/Cassette/MP3 system from Comet and
you start playing music...
Doesn't take long to realise that it ain't going to do, so you go into a
'hifi' shop and take a peek at what's on...

Linn Index Ku Stone stands with Linn Keilidh Speakers??? by
Marc & Mel
Hello!
I currently own a pair of Linn Index II speakers along with an accompanying
pair of Linn Ku Stone stands, I want to upgrade the speakers to a pair of
Linn Keilidh's and I have read that I can use my existing Ku Stones stands
with the Keilidh's but I need to know how the Keilidh's sit on Ku Stones or
do the Ku Stones slip inside the Keilidh's somehow? Or am I tripping?
Also, am I...

Apogee Scintilla speakers by
Harry
I'd appreciate some advice.
I have a Primare 928 Preamplifier and a pair of Primare 928 monoblock
power amplifiers dating from the early to mid 90s. These replaced an
Audiolab 8000A amplifier when I decided to upgrade my system (although
the Audiolab (now around 17/18 years old is still going strong in a
2nd system). I bought the Primare kit from the original designer ( who
has since moved on...

Replacement Kef drivers? by
Nath
The right woofer in my Kef 200 physically feels less supple compared to the
other woofer- instead of being bouncy it's quite stiff. It sounds ok, there
is no grinding/grating noises, but would look to get a spare.
My dealer seems a bit uninterested to get one- so anyone know of a mail
order Kef supplier?
btw it's a Model 200 Reference centre
thanks.

Hi,
I've just bought myself a couple of 3m lengths of QED MkII Biwire
speaker cable (bargain from Ebay) and I am now looking to buy 16
banana plugs to fit to both ends. Anyone have any recommendations what
to buy and where to buy from.
Thanks,

Help wanted - audio engineers by
Richard Mace
Hello, I have a Naim CD 3.5. I have had it for a number
of years and am very pleased with it, however, due to
an evolving set of requirements I now require a digital co-axial
output which the player does not provide for.
I have approached Naim, they will not modify the player
as "would seriously degrade the sound".
I am looking for suggestions.
I would have a go at modifying myself if I thought

Buy on-line? by
SG
Hi all,
I am thinking of buying a new Hi-Fi when I last bought one it was
easy I just wondered into comet and picked one up. However as things
have changed is it worth giving the ‘net a go? If so which are the
best sites? Or can you still get good deals/advice on the high street.
This time I am going to spend a little more ion a system.
Many thanks for your time.
