Muse 300 mono blocks - anyone know them by deja
I've got the opportunity to try out and purchase a second hand pair of 300W mono blocks from Muse Electronics - "Muse Three Hundred". Just wondering if anyone knows about these beasts as there's very little on the web. I found the manufacturers web site but there's nothing to tell me about the qualities of these units. They're 4 years old and will likely go with a Wadia 861 and EPOS ES30...

32cm wide CD player by [email protected]
My old CD player has finally packed in. I need a replacement that will sit on top of the stack. The problem is that modern players are too wide. The stack is 32cm wide. Anyone know of a suitable player? Steve

Ebay leeches by Triffid
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4749073120&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1 (Mobile Fidelity - Crime of the Century) I hate this, out of a minimum sale price of £20 plus £7 postage, the owner gets £12 at the most. I hope this sort of thing doesn't catch on. I really wanted this album, but I'm not prepared to line the pockets of these middlemen too much.

The Proms - you will find lifebelts below your seats by Andy Evans
As Alan Titchmarsh introduces the orchestra one thinks "the brass form a welcome bed of colour behind the second violins" only long enough to wonder why one never understood classical music - it was never EXPLAINED before. Ah! that's it!. So this year Mendlessohn's VC kicks off with subtitles for the hard of thinking "The piece starts with an agitated mood against which the violin makes its...

Excelsior?? by Keith G
OK, not on a banner as such, but a *strange device* nonetheless... This weird confection.... http://www.audiocostruzioni.com/r_s/accessori/pre-phono-muse/muse.htm ...... has fallen into my hands and is another of those wacky Chinese Valve Phono Stages with no sodding bass - much like the Ming Da which was discussed here a while back (and which still has no bass)....

Sage Audio SuperMOS Modules by Brian M
If anyone remembers the Sage Audio Supermos modules from back in the 90s, and would like more info on them, I have recently de-potted a SuperMOS-1 module and traced out the schematic. I've read a few posts by people enquiring about these modules, but unsurprisingly nothing in the last few years. These self-contained modules used an active class-A output stage, and their "unbelievable"...

Strange one by Eddy
I am running a Cambridge audio AZUR 340A and 340C, into a pair of Monitor Audio silver S1's, now I am very happy with this setup, they have been getting heavy use the last few days, and are about 4 months old, nothing has broken, but, the setup has increased in volume, could it be that the speakers are now finally broken in?, or could it be someting else?. Thanks Eddy

recording sky+ radio to CD by Kevin Lucas
I am thinking about buying a Liteon 5045 HDD/DVD recorder. This machine can write to ordinary CDs in addition to DVDs. Is it possible to record radio programmes from Sky+ to CD using this machine, so that they can be played on an ordinary CD player (e.g. in the car)? Or is the signal different to an ordinary audio one? Any advice very gratefully received, Thanks! x-- 100 Proof News -...

Help Trying To Run 2 Speaker Zones by Carl Read
Hi, I have an Arcam AVR250 amp with 5.1 speakers attached and with 3 digital sources running into it. The amp has a zone 2 output. I have a pair of ceiling speakers in 2 additional rooms and the speaker cables from these speakers finish next to the Arcam. I wish to listen to each pair of speakers independantly or run them both together. Ideally I would also like to be able to control the...

Fans inside an audio computer? by Ellie
Hi, Following some really helpful advice from people in this group, I recently bought a new computer, in a Li-Lian chassis, which comes equipped with three small fans: two at the front to draw air in, and one at the back to help drive air out. I have discovered that none of these three fans are ever turning. Removing a side of the chassis, I see that their leads are neatly tied up and don't go...
