Fixed a duff tuner for a pal - failed voltage regulator. After fixing, plugged it into my test amp in the workshop it sounded very lacking in top. For other reasons I tried it into my main system and it was fine. Back to the test amp - no top. Had a TD20A 10" reel to reel for some years, and need to have it repaired. The take up spool fails during 'Play' - it just doesn't start, and the tape winds through the heads and isn't wound up. Hi guys, I overheard this sales guy saying that a stereo amp sounds lot better than a 5.1 integrated amp while running 2 channel direct audio from a analog source. I could hardly make out the difference. Is this a sales pitch or can one 'really' tell the difference when running it on 'high' end systems.
